  1. Many thanks Rob and TomGoodheart!! Your expertise is so helpful. Gratefully, Erika
  2. I inherited a 19th century silver ladle with a coin-mounted bowl. I have identified the coin as a Charles I shilling, but beyond that I am not able to discern the year or any other identifying elements that would allow me to get a sense of its worth. The coin has been pressed into the ladle bowl, marring the face. Anyone out there with an eagle eye who can make a guess about the vintage? Also, were these coins made with 900 silver? Happy to provide additional photos if necessary. Many thanks for any assistance! Erika
