  1. It's taken a while to get registered but I'm sure I am going to benefit from skills and knowledge far in excess of mine. My initial query is about a really poor quality coin belonging to a friend of mine. I have drawn a blank in trying to ID it, so maybe someone can make suggsetions. I have included a colour image (no the coin isn't blue!) and a monochrome from the same original which may be more helpful. The coin appears to be bronze-like and is approximatel 25mm on its longest "diameter".

    Paddy, that is a brilliant "starter for 10!!" It led me staright to the Coronation bronze medal shown here https://www.gbclassiccoins.co.uk/shop/tokens-medallions/1727-george-ii-coronation-bronze-medal/ Bearing in mind the angle of my photo and the poor condition (the other side was so bad I didn't even bother to photo it). I guessed the size, so and original 34mm is quite possible. It looks like it has been buried in the soil for a century!! Thank you very much for your quick response. HenryC
