    South African 3p coins

Following on from my grandfathers Hoard...... A boot fair find would have been 1990's, 1933's up to 1953's.. theres some tarnish and what looks like undoing a screw with a few.. I know there's some 1960's Rands somewhere that came with the 3p's... I seem to think this was a haggle as they were believed to be silver... really hope to find these next.... I need to ask if the South African 3p worth keeping or move them on... I don't feel attached to them so its not a issue. thoughts views values? greatly appreciated. many thanks "H"

They are 1.41grams each. 1919 and earlier = 1.30 grams asw 1919 and earlier = £1.08 each 1920 to 1946 = 0.70 grams asw 1920 to 1946 = £0.58 each my response is... so i'm still open to offers and even trades... cheers "H"

    Coppers / misc

Hello, I thought this was the answer, just me mum just kept on with "one day these will be worth a fortune...!" I kept the silver ones that weren't to bad, the completely rubbed ones I sold for scrap.. it paid for one sovereign that quadrupled in price, I know mum would of had a fit but it would take a life time to explain some of the more practical points of collecting.

George V 1929 Shilling 1st issue? 1923-29 South Africa Shilling.... ....that was an eye opener as i hadn't picked up the Africa on the coin until today.... learning also of the day......the Africa shilling silver content is greater than that of the 1929 shilling... Crickey what a day!?

Redemption required, This (I hope) is the worse of the worse finished with, at least by todays offerings, the collecting? is to be honest must be the most un organised, random assembly of "why the heck did he get that!?!??!?" entertainment ! 😁 so I think we have 1591 James VI (seen better days) J758 George II VF 1571 Elizabeth I (knackered?) please be gentle with me........

Wow, that's a lovely looking coin and from my finds impossible to imagine these found in such a great condition. thank you for sharing this so impressive to see, Thank you for pointing out the "C" Chester Mint, which is interesting to be able to discover more information from it being so worn out. Looking into this further the William III is 25mm across.... A Shilling I think is right.... once again many thanks for all of the input. Rgds "H"

    Hammered coin for ID please

Hello Paddy, I cant be of any help, it would be useful to see the obverse to others in the know, and some times the latin may be helpful, as I did with the scudo that I found in a tub of mixed coins, I will be watching with interest...... all the best

William III 1672–1702, Half Crown ? this is badly rubbed but the only William III I have managed to find. Looking into things I also read that there's a 1689 Halfcrown - William & Mary on the same coin, never seen one of these

    1889 Queen Victoria Crown + 1

hello again, looking through the layers of coins ( all in pockets) 4 more crowns have been found, now someone more organised would have put them in groups and some sort of an order, I didnt!!!!! of late I had a bit of a issue with memory and its hopefully going to get better...... 2 for today... 1892 Victorian Jubilee Head silver crown slightly more dinged so I guess value £30... following on from yesterday. the other 1892 is slightly smaller (Half Crown?) and different obverse. Value? its much better condition but have been circulated, any guidance greatly welcome. All the best "H"
