  1. Hi Guys, I need some help indentifing this coin, I think it is a Henry VII Groat, I have looked in Spinks but the descriptions dont match the coin, the mm that is. I am a complete novice and need your help. Thanks in advance.

    Doh, who cant read? - BigBear! The pellets mentioned are 4d so I think you are right 4c looks like the one!

    I'm no expert as you know, but I cant see the pellet mentioned in the text of 4c also the HYB looks very different?

  9. 4 others that are half groats or pennies, the rest of the collection are later milled coins and even I can find them in the books!

    Just found this in the text "early coins have fleurs on the cusps of the treasure" is this what I am talking about? Dont know the terms cusps or treasure??

    The closest that I could find is Ed IV 2000 or 2001 but no mention of the markings around I think they might be known as Lis

  18. sorry to be dim but if the ref (2199A) says 57,85,33 and none does that mean :- any of them :- all of them or what? 57 is anchor but the others I cant see anywhere?

  20. Thanks so much for your help, if you dont mind a dumb question - here goes. I found the reference 2199 IIIc but it quotes mm as Pansy-Cross-crosslet and none, this is where I got lost as clearly it is an anchor, also 2201 quotes double bar with 6 uprights or crochets which is what I thought it was but again no mention of the anchor???
