  1. yes, thanks for your help, i will need to sort then in some detail - there are no coins above the value of 6d, and so it is a fair old job! thamks for your help with the "bonnet", i'm glad that i know what it is as i would have hated to have claimed that it was something that it wasn't! I'll get back in touch when i have a detailed assessment of the coins. best wishes, steve
  2. warrington, cheshire. i have £3, 9s 4d in small change - i could sort into the groups that you describe if it is worth doing.
  3. Thank you very much for your help, we have had an enjoyable time identifying the coin, even if it is not what we were starting to believe that it might be! Whilst it is disappointing that it is a fake, we have learnt a little about eatrly english coins. again, many thanks. BTW, what is the best way to dispose of a bag full of pre-decimal coins - 1/2d, 1d, 3d, silver 3d, 6d. Most are EII, but there are some George V, VI and Victoria?
  4. it does say WRL - what is the significance of this? When i look at the edge, it does look as though two coins are attached together but i cant be sure as it might just be the way that it has been punched? If it is a fake, why would someone do this as it has not been bought, just found, and was presumably two coins originally? thanks for your help, Steve
  5. Hi, We have found what we now believe to be a William I Bonnet dated 1066-1068, seaby/spink 1250. It appears to us to be in extremely good condition for a coin of this age. We are interested in its sale value and the best place to sell it. We are considering putting it on Ebay, but are interested in other peoples experiences. If anyone could give us an approximate value and advise us of the best place to sell, we would be very grateful. many thanks, Steve Eckersley
