1977-1980 specimen crowns
Unknown replied to Gary D's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
No, that's the Silver Proof. The specimen is likely the version sold through the Royal Mint coin club. At least that's where I got my 1981 specimen. Thanks, yes I was talking about the silver proof, sorry! -
1977-1980 specimen crowns
Unknown replied to Gary D's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
If it is what I think, it comes in a Blue box with a crown on the top and the date 6 FEBRUARY 1977 underneath. Inside there is a small booklet telling you that is it a crown piece being issue in proof silver for the Queen's Silver Jubilee and it gives you a list of other 25 pence (rupees in Mauritius) coins available. The coin itself is in a trasparent plastic holder and is resting in a red softy thingy and the coin is beatifull and shiny, I got it from Chris I think to remember... funny enough a friend of mine just gave me this week the same coin but in Nickel? as he bought it from the post office when it came out. He just had it in a drawer all this time and it comes in a plastic envelop with the outline of an eagle with 3 crowns inside it on the cover that closes the envelope. -
I just went to check the site for the first time and I found this: "This Account has Been Suspended! Please contact the site owner directly about issues you have concerning this website. We are simply the hosting company and we can not give out information concerning customers. Web Hosting by: mjjs.com" Interesting...

Look at his feeback, it tells you everything: "payment not recieved and no answer to several emails. Please beware!!"

I haven't check, but I imagine that SA must be South Africa. In any case I am sure the experts around will confirm or deny. Welcome.

Just in case anyone wants one...
Unknown replied to Chris Perkins's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
I hope I don't miss it... if I don't forget... I have never heard any of your programs... anyone has any ideas of how to make me remember? My memory skills are next to none and my brain is in my wife's head... and she won't be around tomorrow at that time to remind me... -
Well, if I am allow, it is still small, but is free and with time and patience it may evolve to be just what collectors need, have a look at Auctionmonster.net. Any help you need just let me know. But if you are into GB coins and are looking for something specific, Chris will be able to help you, have a look at this page.

Are you just stating something, asking, or what? If you are asking about coin colection software, have a look at VisualNumis.

I thought it would have gone for much more than that, that is a surprise... I hope you can resolve the issue with the buyer and get your cash! -
I didn't want to be so direct... But that is esactly what I meant with my message...

Yes, but I think she would not allow me to part with the cash... I just bought a Volvo S70 automatic because of my back, the manual I had before made the pain worst, so no way she would allow me to have a second car just for the kicks of it... -
Done, added, thank you very much!
-
I will look into that right now, thanks Kuhli!

Unknown replied to Gary D's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Very wise! -
If you found it in the floor it may be difficult for it to be in mint condition... how proficient are you using the internet? I ask it because a posibility is showing a couple of pictures here.

Insurance, suggestions please
Unknown replied to Gary D's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I know I am a fatalist, but why couldn't a thief have access to insurance companies records to know what house is worth stealing from? They just need to get a job, or someone they know/work with, get a job in an insurance company and then get the records of whoever has some nice, small, valuable and easy things to steel, adn then you become the target just by aproaching a company to get some insurance... I know, I know, I am too pesimistic and probably watch too much TV, but who knows... In any case as it was said before, up to your peace of mind. I personally don't have anything of real value in my colection, but if anyone takes it away for me is not so much going to be the monetary value, almost nothing in my case, but the sentimental value, all those coins/notes that my uncle gave me when I was around 12 or so years old that noone can ever get me back... yes, sure, I could get another sample in better condition of those coins/notes cheaply, but they would not be the ones my uncle gave me... -
Collectors' Coins Great Britain 2006 Edition
Unknown replied to Emperor Oli's topic in Rotographic Publications Forum
I have received mine and I am very happy with it, but yes, that folding cover can be in the improve list for next year. What I love that the other one lacked is the smell... yes that smell of brand new book... this is just right! Me? On drugs? No way, can you prove it? -
Those are beauties! One day I will follow you into that area of collecting, but not yet, first I have to decide to get rid of my actual collection, and it is so dificult to decide to part with it...
