My latest ebay listings
Unknown replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Now that I have seen the listings I am sad... I am intesterested in the silver lots but I have no account on ebay... I know someone working for them and after what she told me about it I don't want to register... I am going to cry... -
My oldest one was CCGB 2004, but I gave it to a friend when I got CCGB2005, so this one and the Krause World Coins 1901-2005 are the only collecting books I have so far. Not very old indeed!

2005 Sovereigns
Unknown replied to Emperor Oli's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
For some reason I always preffered older women... even when I was 15, I used to be asociated with a 30 years old woman, it was only friendship, but for how close we where everyone though we were more than that. Fitting it is that I married someone 9 years older than me... Probably the reasons are very similar to what Syl stated. -
I know, I took it from the other site and copied it into this one... even if it is smaller here, it still works. The question was not an actual questio...

Yes I am! How do you know!
-
I think no one in here is going to fall for it, so don't worry Andy.
-
Chris, then you didn't have any dealings with Brazilians... It sounds like a scam. Someone gives me the money, I give it to you, and if the shipment doesn't arrive, then paypal takes the money back from my account and you are home free while I loose money... I don't think so... The only way of doing it is, I receive the money from the customer, you send the shipment, the customer tells me that he has whatever you sold him, then I send you the money except 10% that is mine. That is the only way anyone should do this.
-
I am not rubbing it in... it's just funny. Don't worry, as soon as the content is good, I don't mind. If you ever make a re-run of the books with a single t, let us know!
-
I see what you mean! Yes there it is the double T!

Free Ticket to London Coin Fair
Unknown replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
In that case, if you don't mind sending me the ticket and the address of the venue, if still available, I would very much apreaciate it! Thanks Chris! -
Just for me to know the difference of proof and non proof, I bought a US Proof set from 1986 and it costed me $20. I now can see the difference. I as well bought a half penny from 1970 from Chris, that if I remember correctly is proof, there is a huge difference between them and non proof coins!

When I read through, I don't even notice the faults... the info is what is important to me... but that may have something to do with English not been my first language... I didn't even know there was a doble tt version of the book. Mine has only 1 t in Britain on the cover, and anywhere else I checked after reading this posts.

Free Ticket to London Coin Fair
Unknown replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I may be interested, but have to check with the other half. Is it a ticket for traders or can it be used as a member of the public? Can I bring someone or only 1 person? -
Right, I need a favour!

2005 Sovereigns
Unknown replied to Emperor Oli's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I could not agree with you more! Modern architecture is not something that 300 years from now is going to be there anymore, while what today are old buildings (houses of parliament, for example) will still be preserved and care for, as it is too expensive to make them anymore! -
Especially for Younger Members ?
Unknown replied to tubandpud's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
I only came to the UK in 1995, so have no idea about the pre-decimalisation values... no way I can do that in Shillings and so on... -
The first step is done. Now you can wait for a few days in case anyone is interested and makes an offer, if no one does, you could consider talking to a coin dealer, if he makes you a good offer, all well and good, otherwise, the ebay route is good, but you have to make sure the reserve price is high enough for you not to loose out.
-
You may not need to pay the charges from ebay if you find a buyer here. Why don't you list what you have and the prices you want for each coin and we can take it from there?
-
You could take good care of it, and once you find a replacement, you can send it my way! I would pay your cost by direct bank transfer with paypal, as that would be free of charge... unless I find one myself first!
-
Can you listen to it on the iternet? Can you give me the site? I guess I am late for today... but for next time... Thanks!
-
Welcome, I am one of those "young" ones that Geordie582 complaints about... but my pockets aren't deep and I never used ebay so far.. I am kind of starting in the hobby as you are, even I already collected passively before, just coins and notes people would give me, so we are in the same boat in many areas. Nice to "see new faces" around here.

I see, nice to know... To the unregistered user: No worries, I was not upset or anything, is just that my way of writing is a bit crude at times, as I am Spanish that lives in the UK... as you may know, Spanish speak a bit differently and that has to be noticed sometime... Sorry if it sounded a bit rude, it was not my intention. I just saw someone that I don’t know contradict Chris, that I trust 200% in anything concerning coins, and found it funny. As Chris said, you where right for the scarce dates, types, so I have to apologised, I hope you don’t take it into consideration when it comes to form an opinion of me. Why don't you register? If you are going to be a regular member of the site, then it will be easier for us to get to know you and get a relationship going. I am new myself and not an expert with coins, just starting seriously in the hobby...
-
You see Chris, An unregistered user that we don't know thinks that we are going to take his word over yours, with your experience and the trust we have in you... just because some people may be able to con others on ebay and get more money for a coin that it is really worth… The nerve some people have!

Right, I need a favour!
Unknown replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
You may have to start going to some websites and offering the books for sale... One that I and Sylvester visit regularly is www.coinpeople.com and they have an area for sales and auctions, so you could post there letting them know you have the book available and the price including delivery... someone over there may buy some or even some dealers may be able to stock a few... for trying... -

I tried to call the closest branch to my area, as they provide telephone number for their stores online, but no one picks up the phone... they have such a great customer support!!!!
