  1. I've got 2 endowments.1 just got paid out £30k against £34k the other is absolute rubbish.I had a quote for £10.8k when it was meant to give me £24k in 2016. Insurance, endowments, pensions,Financial advisers are now history.
  2. Now there is a market. Together with free range fried chicken which doesn't taste of cardboard. Also a proper chippy in France...You can stick your french chips. I do like the big French lunch stew with hot bread and raw red wine with water...followed by a sneakie French ciggie. I need a lottery win urgently.
  3. Yep,Robs inspected it and confirmed its a fake, pity but NO loss except time but lots learnt I only buy hammered from known dealers or previous good experience's.Just tread carefully.
  4. I still have an Equitable pension which I don't pay into but keep.I have had Financial advisers on my back for years trying to get me to transfer....they can go and do one. I just look after my own £.The internet is full of information.I love the challenge
  5. If provenance is required Rob is your man.I have a couple of Romans with coin tickets 100 years old.I did buy a Dr Johnstone/Cooke farthing. If you buy at the top end of the market provenance is everything. I work in 100's not 1,000's
  6. She found it twice and I have 2 gorgeous teenage daughters who don't stress me out whatsoever
  7. Michael coins is an old established dealer and NOT Freeman. They are experts in Copper. Colin Cooke coins are still to me one of the best. When Colin was alive I loved a chat and Mrs Peter also spoke to him (sourcing my Peck). Get yourself off to a coin fair and meet your dealers, buyers whatever...they don't bite
  8. Get your Romans into olive oil (watch out for Popeye) I have turned some real crud coins around.
  9. When we go on holiday my mother always gives me £500 and says don't spend it on beer.(Wine and women is OK though)
  10. Come on Peeps. We all have choices of where to stash the cash. Keep it under the radar and buy a few coins....BTW tell rich parents to become gamblers and have drink problems and get the money out now. When I go upstairs there won't be a 1d to the taxman

  13. I missed out on hammered gold. You could pick up nice examples for diddly a few years back. Clive's 1/4 Nobel is looking for a home.Only 20 nights on a sofa with castella's,brandy and diet coke.Kick the Chav out of you.As they say one in Kate Bush is worth two in the hand.
  14. A nice Eddie 1 are affordable (London or Canterbury mint) Cantor or DOH. Go for a nice round coin, centred and you will catch the bug.Grading hammered is another story.Go for eye appeal every time.
  15. 99p coin ? I have hundreds.A true VF will go for more.
  16. I have no issue with Barclay's and have used them for Banking (business and current account and ISA's).If the Knob heads out there realise PPI and other add on's.FFS.thicko's
  17. That's pretty risky, Peter! It is the April/May strike.
  18. Love it The grass is still too wet to mow,a quick trawl on the coin sites and I feel better for it.
  19. John I haven't had a decent cigar since Xmas. That is the beauty of them.I stopped smoking in the mid 90's.Recently I have been under a lot of stress so Mrs Peter bought me a pack of the largest cigars they sell at Sainsbury's.Ugg A Monte Christo 3 or 4 x a year does me. A large Jameson's on birthday's ,special occasions also does the trick. When both appear out of the blue I must be doing something right
  20. Bugger..I've run out of decent cigars.Plenty of beer but hey
  21. Keep them sweet. I have been married for 22 years and been together for 26 years. We all have faults but work around them. My finest tray is out of sight.
  22. Nice post Especially when there is a premium bond notification. Sometimes it is nice to get away from reality.I do it here as a faceless chap but always made welcome. This weekend Mrs Peter has demanded a BBQ on Sunday...it will be sausages and burgers because the fillet steak has been converted into coins.I shall be drinking a William of Orange Vodka.
  23. I think it is time for a big man hug (Debbie can join in )It is Friday afternoon...mid summer and the lights are on...but I must say my spuds are looking good.
  24. Hi Chris (mongo) I have been hanging around here since 2004.Forum members come and go but I have learnt so much..I have never been abused or given out abuse.I have bought trays, albums from Chris (predecimal) sold some coins to him and although my reputation is being a bit crazy at times I feel welcome. It is a 24/7 forum with our USA members(and Rob)posting in the early hours. The information is here so enjoy your new hobby. You will learn a lot.We have esteemed forum members (Freeman,Petition Crown) I'm sure Peck would of joined Learn your subject and buy the books. If you like shillings you can go back to hammered, learn about history and the art of coins.Imagine what the coin would of bought when new. The Kings shilling was paid to the press ganged drunks in the 18C. I hope you hang around
