One of my earliest purchases was a GVF 1841 1/2d for 50p. I was a butchers boy and earned £2 for Saturday morning.Plus the chief butcher always sorted out my Saturday evening tea and occasionally a Sunday roast.Fond memories..This with fruit picking enabled me to buy a FSIE....i wish I still had it because they are now worth 000's.

My nephew and his Misses came down to Suffolk for the recent Newcastle match at Portman Road.We agreed prior there would be no ribbing. His 1st born is going to get the full Ipswich kit.(he is a Newkie season ticket holder) plus his car is better than mine....my bloody sisters fault for moving ooop North.

I remember when Radio 2 had a phone in about sexuality.A chap phoned in and said he was gay but mentioned he had a very small penis.BBC didn't even pick up when he said his name was Justin Sidebottom. I nearly crashed my car.

Great idea Andrew. We probably all collect differently but obtaining trays like that won't be cheap. The setting out would be a mare and production labour intensive.

Mrs peter and her best friend
Peter replied to Peter's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Thanks sonni. Mrs Peter died in an accident October 2015.(you weren't a member of the Forum then) There is no reason for me flying off the handle. Sorry to hear about your Uncle.Remember the good times. My daughters were brought up with Jo's son and events have hit them hard. People do rally and get on in life.My eldest daughter is a qualified sous chef and for a long time her boss always plated me up a Sunday lunch.Plus I have good friends. -
Hope you enjoy.

It would be a minor loss plus the crud on a fine piece.14 g plus or minus 5% should be the weight.

If you could let me know of anyone who hasn't been duped on ebay..I think it would be a very short list. Lets face facts we are all greedy and want a bargain.Dodging a bullet is good though. -
No wire wool but the bees wax is the only treatment the cabinets get.

Today's Spink auction - some interesting observations
Peter replied to 1949threepence's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I have personally seen it at Fine art auctions when the auctioneer misses an in room bid.Hammer down and that is it.That is (or should be) how it works. An inept auctioneer (and his team including IT) if they are not up to the game they can do one.I won't be bidding on anything on the net or giving my "on the book" prices.Ebay is now fecked so coin/antique fairs it will have to be.
