  1. There are plenty more shillings out there. If you regret a purchase then you should'nt have bought it.
  2. Although Ebay is in my living room I still like to hunt out nice pieces. A trip to the Midland fair always exites me despite having coin collectors back after stooping over the trays. I also have my favoured dealers. Try a sneekie bid on the shilling. I've stopped collecting dates (apart from farthings)and now want to shift anything which doesn't cut the mustard. Trouble is my requirements are wallet trembling now. If I sell all my pre 47 silver I may just have the funds for some early hammered silver. Or if I can shift some money from the kids piggy bank
  3. That is so problem free I raise my cup of tea. However I would not spot an open 1903 in years. Pennies is for loo's
  4. semale the corfee Mr Goodheart. I'm going to the local shop for a nice claret....plus the mail
  5. Hi Don't buy and sell on the same ID. I've been raped on Ebay but also made silly money for crap. I will put about 15 coins at a time .99p start and enjoy.
  6. You mean he uses hs where he should be using ns. You mean you don't understand simple Englisn, Rob?
  7. I have Davies but never seen David's work. The real deal is getting varieties into a popular price guide.(well done Peckchris) Coin monthly picked up loads of varieties for 20C farthings ie 1914,15 but Spink still ignore these....hence there are a handfull of us mugs chasing them around when "Joe dealer" hasn't a clue and no premium is realised....apart from us boys in the know.
  8. Predecimal? Real coins are before 1901 To a tooth or a gap Hmmmm.
  9. John He is on loan on a pay for play basis....guess what he is injured. He actually scored when he had a broken leg before we popped him up to you for £6m. It was that Robson chap who also collared Titus. Those two only fired on 3 cylinders...shame really.
  10. and 4 coin forums and another 2 Ipswich forums. Must be my punishment for all the wrong doings in a previous life.
  11. Is that a Whooooosh or is Peck double bluffing?
  12. He is actually a member on an Ipswich Town forum, I saw this a few weeks back There is another good spoof on a Paul Ross canvas on amazon...there are a lot of people including myself who have far too much free time.

    TONGA

If we're not careful we're going to end up on the subject of Madeline Smith again... That is a subject I wouldn't mind getting onto although Patsy Kensit or Kelly Brooke would suffice my old bones (I reached a milestone birthday on Monday ) They can get in a queue but there might be a bit of a wait on the third time round.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

7 bidders, really what is that all about? Would you want to pay £350 for a cleaned exbroach?
  15. I've got both volumes of North which I picked up at a provincial auction. I don't really want or need 'em. What's the second-hand value of 'em? I picked up North 1 from the Midland and it's immaculate for £10 (it was a bargain) as they go for between £25 & £45 each. Each set, or each volume? Each volume.

  17. The rates in the 2010 CCGB are 2.2k 0.45k & 0.08k be aware the top end rates have risen...mid range stayed the same and Fine dropped. Anything less than F probably wouldn't interest a serious collector.I haven't got an 03 or 05 but a reasonable selection of other high grade 2/6's until I can afford a top grade 03 or 05 they won't be on my radar(beware of forgeries especially 05)
  18. Euro's and £? Although it would appear a tad expensive.
  19. It is a weak strike and the split doesn't help oveall maybe fine money with a following wind.
  20. I couldn't live with that.My 1698 farthings are just about OK.Looks to be the real thing

  23. Being the proud owner of a fake of which I can't find a difference I would be very interesting to know what attributes Chris uses to authenticate it If it is a fake it is bloody fantastic.
