Gypsies...I can't handle windows 7 or facebook...retire me or I will stick to an excell spreadsheet.
  2. Keep em natural ....a bit like ...oherr
  3. We lent Benty go for about 3m....a bargain..however compared to Town strikers in 70/80s he wouldn't tie their boots. However we have a 17 year old in Conner Wickham who will kick ass...hopefully on Tuesday.
  4. We use baby nappy sacks for the dogs whoopsies.....far cheaper than pet shop versions. I've used olive oil on lesser Romans which have may have been buried for 2000 years and had good sucess...it takes a long time...I recently found a cup full(2 years in the oil but 75% are now keepers). Don't know about the baby wipes...a bit of soapy water and a pat dry is as far as I go...however I usually only buy nice coins Baby wipes are good for the car (and beach) to clear up messy fingers.

They still live there and have spread....give em a sack of seed spuds and send them home.
  7. What a job Mr Attwood has. Good info though. I have picked up a few early 20C medals....nice area to collect.

Poor lads...we just don't understand them...the surname is so funny and must be a millstone around their necks...maybe they should change it to Pleasant or Goodchild...stop drinking and treat other people with respect..can't see it happening. Can't we export them to Aussie?..or even a arab nation who would soon sort this scum out.

Can I smell a rat here?
  10. Looks like a winner to me. It is important to get it fully ID'd and noted for its rarity.
  11. I would expect something between £10 and £20...it has had a hard life but still keepable. If you get a fully struck well rounded London eddie it could be worth £50+ a bargain in my opinion....and some of the rarer mints a lot more.
  12. My kids set me up and I had a few unwelcome hits...I don't tend to view it and prefer the phone.
  13. There are so many interesting places to see...we still discover new attractions....I haven't been to London for a couple of years...and don't miss it. The internet is a great help in planning your trip...we all have our preferences...just extend your stay and don't buy all the coins.
  14. Norfolk folk have a few more fingers
  15. Just take yourself to Scotland Bob, best place in Britain Bob get your deep fried mars bars and get out quick even the blokes wear skirts
  16. Touché £400. They are all after your meal deals...what ever happened to proper pubs?I won't bother...or can't afford to bother. We are off to the pub...tonight but it won't be for the beer...maybe a nice steak for £6.95 but I won't fill my bladder at £3 a pint and £4.75 for a glass of plonk.
  17. Bob I have a lot of US connections my aunt married one of your guys and I also worked on the US base at Lakenheath for 2 years..don't bother with London the rest of the UK is so much nicer...The Midland coin fair at the NEC in Birmingham is great...use laterooms to pick up the bargains...we often stay at the Ansty Hotel or in Coventry village hotel for our family trips....when you get to the NEC the wallet shakes....be there for 10am...take a good glass and lighting because it isn't always good....the bigger fairs are 4 times per year the next one is in March.
  18. Bob Know your good dealers and stick with them...I once ordered a coin from Colin Cooke and he phoned me to say it wasn't for me...top bloke sadly missed.Everyone likes a good deal but there are a few on the bay. I'm going through a clear out and ID'ing coins...I did hear of a dealer picking up a collection of Liz 1 coins worth about £10K for £50...a disgrace. My coins are uninsured but I have a Springer and feral cat to ward off nasty types. My pal collects Geo 11 furniture and doesn't bat an eyelid at coffee cups on the table....they are to be used but not abused. My terror is my 13 year old daughter feeding my 1/2ds into the 2p machines at the slot machines....however my eldest is a bit smarter as she does my pictures and loads the stuff on ebay in seconds.....however she believes Ebay money is hers.Luckily the wife hasn't seen me sneek a few £ out of my account...I have promised a round the world cruise in 10 years time. ...I would prefer 2 weeks on a Greek Island holding the tummy in with Raki, squid Mataxa 3 4 or 5 and coke...4 of us used to get bladdered on less than £10.
  19. They price themselves out of the game with their grading...absolute farce...I was thinking of getting a couple of raw coins slabbed but will ignore...both are BU and a blind man could grade them.I might have mentioned before a farthing sold at their auction for £90 was slabbed by them(dodgy) and was priced up at £150 It had edge damage which was covered by the slab....another dodgy dealer...be aware but there are good dealers out there.

My only dice with light and heavy resulted in a binge on Newcastle brown....and resulted in the triple crown...don't ask.

Certain coins are just not available...where the hell do these prices come from? Ebay for 20C coins are mad...get a few dealers lists and save a fortune.Happily I did most of my farthings from dealers lists at a fraction of Ebay prices...there are still bargains to be had but I just bought a 1930 BU 1d for £15 and a 1958 BU 6d for £2 from lists....50p postage and I'm delighted.Go to coin fairs and make offers...I usually jangle after a day at the Midland with known dealers. Quality and price for nice hammered is madness...hence I shift lesser examples on Ebay.I would never buy my sausages from Harrods when better ones cost a fraction of the price at the local butchers.I think Mr Perkins guide is the most realistic...pity it doesn't go pre 1797...well worth the money and I'm waiting for my 2011 edition
  22. I take my mother to the supermarket every week...however we tend to shop locally and at farm shops most of the time....I do buy some of the supermarket booze bargains...but even their prices have rocketed...my mum used to like those small bottles of wine at 4 for £5....but these have now reduced from 25cl to 18.5cl...she doesn't bother now...BTW Asda green can 4% larger is Fosters at a fraction of the price. We still avoid the local pubs because £10 for 2 drinks and 2 soft drinks is too much
  23. I got their catalogues for a while and failed on my bids...their slabbed coins are priced way OTT. Another one to avoid.

There are some coins that I would pay well over Spink prices...I shan't divulge
  25. I went though thousands of pennies to find H,KN 2mm and even ME's I did strike lucky at a simple auction when I bought a pot full of the key dates.
