I really can't be bothered with these idiot sellers. My other peeve is the sellers of early copper that think they have something special by listing various slight differences. If they bought Peck they might have a bit more nous. I reckon if I lined up my 20 or so 1720 1/4ds each one will likely be slightly different...However you can never have enough decent Cu above Fine.

The effect of forgeries on our collections.

Richard (Tomgoodheart) pictured some snide CH1 shillings that would of fooled me (not difficult) It is a case of knowing the series in detail before taking the plunge. -
1949 3d has given you the best advice.I have great hiding places for my coins and a safe. What more do you need?

In Suffolk we call them Wedding man. They seem to be at every wedding you go to.Another thing is they are still wearing 32" waist trousers despite putting on 3 St. A quality Lima will always hold its value.A beautiful coin.
-
Oh and avoid 1758,1787 silver and 1746 Lima halfcrowns and maybe 1711 shillings. They are as common as a drunk accountant in a nylon shirt at a wedding.

1950 & 51 1d coins still sell at 1960 prices.Buy some early silver GVF+ (pre 1800) and enjoy.
-
No way...all is modern RM trash. The only way you can make on this crap is bullion increases. Buy history....simples.
-
When you can get an EF ED1 penny for less than a shite modern 50p There is no comparison. Out of duty I got the Olympic 50p's but haven't looked at them for 5 years. My hammered coins are always at hand, not in capsuals and apparently i have a grin bigger than my thieving dog who recently had my steak out of a hot frying pan.

Finely tooled I would suggest.Colin Cooke mentions that the H on the 1/4d was often tooled to look like a 1875 small date farthing.

This is the whole load of rare (sic) Heaton and Kings Norton coins....drill em and make washers. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1912H-1918KN-1918H-1919KN-1919H-Penny-Set-5-RARE-COINS-FREE-POSTAGE-/401079045375?hash=item5d622c8cff:g:qxoAAOSwUuFW0d3M

It is NOT fine BTW it is what I call crap shite.

Condition is everything. If it is average circulated about £1 if you are lucky. Most of the ebay junk won't sell. http://www.cambridgeshirecoins.com/1918-KN-PENNY-F/en If this dealer gets £7 I will eat my hat.

From Clive's post you have a sub £20 coin it appears.

Hi Mindie If they can't get ID'd here there is something seriously wrong.Amongst our mist are top dealers and published authors on coins (as well as nutters like me). Roman coins are maybe where we are weaker but I know an excellent US forum. I think we all need a chill pill sometimes and less caffine...a good sprint to the local shop for a bottle of wine works wonders for me.

Liverpool man invents new currency...
Peter replied to Michael-Roo's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
King size with a few pebbles of black it may work. -
Underneath the crud is a nice example...keep working on it.Nothing too drastic in one go.Water softened wooden cocktail sticks will be your friend together with a supply of cotton buds.
-
Very interesting coin...however this got through the monyers quality control is remarkable as punishments were severe.
-
Pete you can be a shite but I can tolerate you...someone has too.Even a frog gets a kiss.
