Those cents are so false they are obscene....I'm afraid given the oportunity...out would come the "Brasso"

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

This maybe a rare coin and catalogue prices low. But in my opinion struggles to reach Fine.....any comments ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1854-Shilling-Extrem...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. The driving test today should be fairly easy. When I passed my test the driving school car was a Sunbeam Talbot with the smallest bite on the clutch possible. Luckily my Dad let me borow his brand new Datsun Bluebird with a clutch like butter. Hence a first time pass followed by a gallon of homebrew...which made me sick.
  6. Doh....I hate not logging in.
  7. I don't think Chris meant the album etc. The coins are a bargain for a new collector. Look at the trash on Ebay. I started my eldest on Edward V11 pennies to George V(1902-1936) and upgraded my collection in the process. The KN,s and H's are a challenge as well as 1926 Me. I ignored all of Freemans.....but kept my eye open for varieties. I can't believe prices on Ebay...A lot of modern coins can be bought cheaply from dealers.
  8. No one else has replied....but unless any of the coins are in perfect uncirculated condition I'm afraid the coins are worth pence.
  9. I reckon you have one of these http://www.onlinecoins.co.uk/viewcoin.php?...6&keepsession=1 1884 gothic on the same site an EF is about £70 to £90. They are beautiful coins and desirable in VF+ condition.
  10. I think you are a few hours behind. Happy Birthday

Maybe its me....I've never negatived (or been negged)...Buyer beware.....Caveat Emptor.
  12. Chris I have a 1893 2nd edition of Montagu. You would be welcome for a FOC loan. The illustrations are not numereous...but it makes a SPLENDID read.

  14. Last year toning kits were selling on Ebay...and selling very well. Looking at the feedbacks they were selling to some respectable dealers on BOTH sides of the pond. There was a thread on here.
  15. Happy Birthday and enjoy the scenery.
  16. Artifical toning and surgically enhanced boobs....both a BIG NO.

    Grading Coins

I agree with Geordie on the hammered (which also applies to early milled). Ugly stains on the flans being typical. Obviously with hammered several obsevations come into play....A nice round flan,no fan splits, being well centred, unclipped, quality of metal etc.etc. In the real world the buyer wants to down grade the piece and the seller upgrade...long may it reign....the alternative is Slabbing

This one is a bit smelly. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-1897-VICTORIA-O...1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. My niece was after a pair of these shoes. They are chav and cheap..(90% fake).....no quality. Don't try and compete with dross masses. On another point my Dr Martin Safety shoes and boots are now Made in China...Leicester has shut down?
  21. So when broadcasting on Coins and Medals to the nation on prime time BBC are you in some dodgy set up? Or do you just leave that for your leisure time?
  22. You're not in the Jaffa head league....but a borderline ginge. Looks like you two had been doing some Hippy type things. What gives with the black lipstick or had you been sucking the young ladies eyes?
  23. Just saw the birthday thingie over at cp. Hope you had a good swirl.
  24. Well bless me.....A ginger Goth.
