Peter and Dog in Norfolk
Peter replied to Peter's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Came off the beach Mid afternoon after fishing the ebb, caught 6 whiting and a flounder....no pictures as I didn't have a macro lens I know Norfolk well. Thanks chaps for all your well wishes..,back to Peter Manor tomorrow. -
I've been in North Norfolk this week with my springer Jake and faced my Ist holiday without Mrs Peter. The weather has been roasting.Today my eldest and her boyfriend visited and we have had a day on the beach followed by fish supper. They have taken Jake back with them so tomorrow I'm geared up for fishing two tides. It has been brilliant, far better than I could of imagined.Jake has been a godsend. Life took an ugly turn last year and the last 11 months have been hell. There is light at the end of the tunnel .

List of coins... Any value??? Possible 1p 1882 no H
Peter replied to ian_ok's topic in Beginners area
There are many worn 1882 1d's out there where the H has worn away. You need to post a picture. All the pre 1947 silver will be worth bullion. All the coins need to be uncirculated or near so to be worth anything. You sir I think have 3 nrs on the lottery. -
That's because the ladies thought I was on the reverse wearing my python skin posing pouch.

Nice find Michael. -
I agree I'm a legend or do you mean a leg end.

Off with the socks and hands off c**** Yeh I'm a twat and can't be having myself sometimes

As long as you list in the correct category it will sell. Quite frankly 130,000 pieces of modern decimal crap puts me off ebay the rest being cu/nic in F. Gone are the days of decent coins...I do still look and occasionally bid but from a daily search it is now 2 weekly..

It would make £15 ...£20 on Ebay easily.

Hi Iain I'm off on holiday very soon and my lounge is packed to the rafters with fishing gear. On my return I will sort a pack for you,PM you ETC. A donation to charity is always a good thing and that is an individual choice.Helping others is always rewarding.

Ravenous Bugblatter beast of Traal springs to mind (for you Douglas Adams posse)

Nice Jaggy. A dealer who I often used on VCOINS Barry Murphy has joined NGC. A bloody shame because I've had some cracking Cu and he is one of the more knowledgeable US dealers who doesn't faff with a bloody 1956 cents with a cud. I think he has gone to NGC for ancients and hammered. I've lost a bloody good dealer but he will bring a lot to NGC.

Let's See Your Toned English Milled Silver!
Peter replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
My initial thought was cameo but not being 50% au fait with TPG's. Sets are usually split if there are bad uns. What do the rest go VS? -

I'm up for a bit of Thursday fun PF 66 -
Now thats what I call the Dogs b****** If you use your obvious skill you will end up with storage for life and proper care.

As mentioned before these coins can be picked up for a pittance. Before you jump in too deeply pick up a couple for a little outlay and research and learn. Nothing wrong with picking up a bit of history and learning. Hand on my heart they will never be cheaper.

Try a dip with a cotton bud and decide for yourself....on a lesser coin. With your's treatment with acetone should be your 1st port of call.

Welcome Iian, you will note that this is mainly a predecimal forum but we have a few lost souls who collect modern. I even succumbed to the Olympic set of 50p's....snapped up a few Kew gardens when they came out due to low mintage...a BU was £2-£3 then.A word of warning on our Chinese buddies. They soon pick up on rarer coins like Kew,undated 20p's and are swamping the market with fakes. There are threads referring to these to help you to avoid them. If you do fancy predecimal I can sort you out a good starter pack FOC. We all chip in and info is also free. Enjoy ....hardly touch my Xbox.

Amazing what people collect. A 10 yr old in the 60's collecting dates from circulation?
-
Not if you apply the dip with a cotton bud and the area is very small. I wouldn't buy a coin if the staining was considerable. Another forum member did it to a 1937 crown and has promised me a pint when we meet.
