  1. Only you can decide on whether you like it and didn't over pay.Personally I couldn't ever want it.
  2. I agree but I have bought nice coins at the Midland from this dealer.
  3. Get a CGS mirror Pete and have a good look Luckily my impressions of members are of Davros apart from Rob who is a big bugger who will give you a slap.
  4. Probably the wrong forum Natalie. I would suggest ebay BIN with a good description and photo. The collectors of such coins are rarer than the coins themselves.
  5. Jesus wept. They can do one. For the lads in deep get 1 membership between you all. They are prize lady front bottoms.
  6. A nice gesture would be to give 4 credits for the £99 outlay. I am trying to think how they could improve their prospects. Pete keep giving away prizes it will lessen your photography outlay. When we do meet up the coffee will be on me and you can twist my arm for a slice of cake.
  7. The choice for people collecting coins is huge. CGS was an option and I dodged this bullet. A few years back at the Midland CGS were displaying the "finest" coins and the majority of dealers I spoke to were taking the Pi55. LCGS IMO will disappear ripping off poor souls.A few on the forum are in deep but I wish they would wake up and smell the coffee. I had hoped one of the US major TPG's were the new owners but alas.
  8. That sold on provenance.
  9. I was looking at LC's previous sales and this one is up there. I have 2 examples but need to up my game on this date (and the 3 variations)
  10. I would sell my daughters for that !!!
  11. Still a very nice example InterN.
  12. Ooooh...I like that. The toning is spot on
  13. CP's list is useful as a guide to the beginner. However, once you specialize on a type or series key dates or rarities take on a new meaning. The 1D boys are all chasing a market which is well documented and every Tom,Dick (but not Harry maybe) can easily track down, hence inflating prices. I still chip away in areas that I know (price guides can be hung in your privvy). Incidentally I've just ordered an Edward 1 penny which if correctly described would/could/should be worth 2 fold. maybe more ...not that I will be selling soon.
  14. http://www.predecimal.com/key_dates It is here Pete
  15. LCA's next auction should prove a tad interesting.
  16. I like the risk of these bad boys and have knocked a few home runs. http://goldprice.org/gold-price-uk.html But for fun only unlike the Labour twit/buffoon/wnkr/ etc
  17. The weakness on both sides seriously damages value and hints of a jewelry mount. IMO 200 euros is an expensive mistake.
  18. Pete Join the "Died in wool" of type/whateveryerfancy gang. Paulus and myself have. My main focus is/was farthings but last knockings are elusive/too expensive. Find a series, research and enjoy...get your wallet out. Have you ever considered 1/2d's ? A handsome coin and you can nip back to 1672 for your coppers. (Keep away from tin) What about 1ds 1797 to 1860 (Georges and Williams good value)
  19. Strike a light Paul that is a fantastic 1d (I've said it ) I'm sitting here with both feet raised above my torso. Both my ankles have swelled but....going to see a Porsche later today. However the 1d could tick another off my bucket list.
  20. phil2uk It maybe a nice error but the market isn't there/here or anywhere. A nice keepsake but that is all. Harsh but fair
  21. i voted BRexit to ged rid of these Noigerian fraudsters. If Spinks want it let them sell it. Chiswick mainly do Bargain Hunt.
  22. Peckris will be proud
  23. Bloody awful news. There are some seriously deluded scum in our mist.
  24. Too hot for my Dawg and my tomatoes have wilted but 17hrs of daylight is ace.
