Colin I agree we should all move on BUT I've gone back to 7 due to crap later systems. I will sit and wait but 7 still is OK for me. I was brought up on supercalc and a multi £ contract had 1 computer to share. Now even the site mice have pooters.

Where to sell pre-decimal coins at face value
Peter replied to sjh's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
SJI Welcome Bag them up in £10 face and sell them for £20. Don't forget the 1/2d's fit into 2p slot machines. 480 1/2ds to £1 50 2ps to £1 Not that I would consider this. -
I guess 'eye appeal' is everything nowadays ...
Peter replied to TomGoodheart's topic in British Hammered
Like you Hazelman I started by amassing everything. I still collect everything but my standards have risen. Sometimes when I get my coins out I will cherry pick ones to sell (apart from my farthings) Date runs are a thing of the past. Eye appeal is important to me. -
Got mine off ebay. Cheap as chips.

I hope Mrs Peter does not see this thread The dining room is Dad's coin room as I escape from Eastender's and listen to some Classic and a bit of Punk. I remember in 1977 The Clash came to Bury St Eds and the local press announced couples were fornicating on the floor,,,,on the ceiling would of been much more fun.

BTW it was graded by PCGS and bought from CC I do love it. I've bought a few slabbed farthings from CC who now rest out of plastic and in my FARTHING cabinet (thanks Neil)

Coin restorer?
Peter replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Recently a 1917 sov was sold by a CGS partner it was so wrong. Plus there is a CGS slabbed 1865 farthing with a MASSIVE edge knock out there. That is dishonest. Nothing but a twat would drill a 1905 shilling and a good repair is fine by me. I wouldn't want the light polishing. -
St James Auction today
Peter replied to pokal02's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I kid myself I buy to sell but I don't. The last count I had 14 Mitchell fishing reels numerous other makes and over 20 rods. My coins are a habit. i've got loads of 1859 farthings. -
The tone is just perfect. A coin like that keeps me ....well just floats my 70ft canal boat.

One of our members had a 1905 holed 1/- done. I'm Mr Picky but it was brilliant work. I've got a 1798 guinea with a smidge of solder. I will risk this myself.
