i'm no expert but it is the rarer of the 2 1825's. I would suggest VF CCGB 2015 values this at £2.5k. Note I would need to examine it in hand because F = £1.2k and EF = £4.5k so it will be between these figures and grade. Nice coin and rare.

Garret My mum still lives by the cheque. She has a cash point card but I have to escort her and count out the money. I do direct debits/paypal/credit&debit cars. She isn't interested. -
Trouble is if I've had a couple of sherbets and search Youtube. I end up with a few CD's playing with the headphones on and it is getting light.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed. I was thinking along the lines of a half empty pot of swarfega. Why slab coins worth less than 50p? CGS recently took a slap from us on the GV 2/6. Can't they see they are harming themselves by charging £200 to slab 8 coins worth less than a £10 total.

So the Springer, sprung .....the clue's in the name.... He knew what he had done.Tail between his legs he sloped off to his bed. Just couldn't resist it. For my birthday meal last year my daughters cooked me a beef roast....but failed to mention one of our cats decided he was going to have a bite at it 1st. -
Looks a good gig with an appreciating audience. On a Sunday evening we used to go to a local pub. The venue was called The Young Turks Jazz club. Various instruments were available should you want to join in. Rounded off the evening nicely. Was the song the coin collector the one that was written about Mike Gouby?

I was at the Midland a few years ago and heard dealers saying that another dealer was trying to sell an UNC 1918 2/6 for £25 and he must be mad. I paid £2.50 each for my GV pre 1920 2/6's ranging from EF to Unc from a jeweler's. Right place at the right time. Marks coin is a beauty.

Like leaving half a takeaway pizza in the lounge whilst mrs Peter and my good self were out of the room and our Springer took a chance. -
The benefit of CGS certifying these bad boys is you can get your money back. Alibaba have put me off collecting what they reproduce.

Wreath Crown of dubious origin
Peter replied to Mark's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Buyers are too stupid to research their coins and deserve to get ripped. If you have half a brain you would steer clear of a seller that doesn't deal in coins.....or a stamp dealer with 1864 die 4 florins or a prat in Cornwall. -
