  1. Thanks Richard A good start.
  2. That isn't too bad for a silver coin. I tend to start my auctions at 99p and 95% reach a decent level.
  3. Most generous Garrett. A true thoughtful gent. One tip to preserve you coin books is a trip to Wickes where they use a heavy gauge polythene bags/sacks for their sand etc. Perfect for covering your books.
  4. Exergue is the date under Britannia There is also a type with the date in the legend.
  5. Don't suppose you have a 1933 for me
  6. Maybe a bit of Salmon fishing required give me a PM and I can tell you I almost shot the gillie on the Tay. My mate had the lease on Taymouth Castle...I shagged a pretty thing from Kenmore the (younger daughter and my mate got a dose.....oh how I laughed) Early 80's
  7. Well said Bob That is why you must always buy the coin and not the slab. A great reason for me to always buy raw and ignore TPG's and their fantasies. If you can see a cracking coin through the slab Great.
  8. Oh, yes, sorry, my fault...never got that before! So sorry, Johnshan, I can't begin to explain what happened there...total crossed wires/miss-post!Whoops! Stewie Put the red wine away. I think it may be a late night for me watching children in need. I've already dug deep in Tesco and Mrs Peter has just brought through some Abbot. Oh dear.
  9. Leave it slabbed. My advice only. The slabbing would cost £25+ A CGS 60 on a common coin is worth putting on the back burner.
  10. I was gigging hard in the Punk era....best gig Ramones at Cambridge Corn Exchange. Many great bands Stranglers,Dury,SLF,The Boys,Dr Mix,Penetration,Damned,OMITD,Numan,Crass and many many more.
  11. Don't do it in haste.I don't like slabs and have never slabbed a coin but the slabs I have have remained slabbed. What is the coin and what grade has been attributed? Lots of things to consider.
  12. Last weekend I tried to sort out my fishing gear. I found I had 36 reels and 25 rods . Mrs Peter gave me the dagger eyes. It was touche when I muttered shoes. Has anyone else gone over the top on hobbies? It probably wasn't the best time to ask her if I can have a Lotus Elan. (Or a couple more Mrs Peters)
  13. They are not rare as I have 5
  14. I'm still waiting for a Hyundai rear light from a Korean Ebayer. It was £87 from Korea or over £300 in the UK. They are keeping in touch blaming DHL for returning the unit to Korea. (I've only just received the customs invoice) I'm also still waiting for a rocking horse crown from the UK. I got it for £9 delivered AUNC...I was going to flip it. 3 weeks since I paid.
  15. I can't see it from the thumbnails.
  16. My Rolex was more than the cost of a 1934 crown
  17. Chris's books has them.
  18. Peter

    Guineas

Maybe the seller ought to be informed it is a third guinea
  19. Thanks for the link Just Me. Funny that the fraudster has only sold 4 coins.
  20. A ebay seller recently sold a 1932,33,34 crowns from Aliexpress and got positive feed back!!!! Made a fortune the scum bag.
  21. With the 1717 it is basically problem free apart from wear.To upgrade your coin to the heady heights of vf you will pay several hundred pounds
  22. I just get a slap from the Mrs ....the postman dose not help by saying another coin for Peter.....but when I get a coin I'm happy as Larry and even make a nice cup of tea for everyone...seems to work ....Mrs Peter has my credit card...but it seems to work.My eldest works at our local quality restaurant and she brings home leftovers...yumm
  23. I must omit to buying a few slabbed coins which remain in slabs it helps cure my OCD. My cars and house were immaculate until i was invaded by a wife 2 cats a dog and 2 daughters...they seem to create mayhem. I like to get in my garage with my radio and car....my dog likes to join me to avoid Eastenders etc I also keep a bottle of Malt in there
  24. Last time I informed a buyer he had bought a fake I got a warning from ebay.
  25. It was me Chris and involved Mrs Peter getting you advertisers. Since then she has picked up a high pressure telesales and actually selling the end project and if I suggested my idea my family jewels would probably join my adams apple. Her back ground was with Land Rover monthly where she did very well. But if you want a funeral plan or to protect your estate on your death let me know. Idea Give forum dealers adverts at reduced rates and then send out copies to everyone who advertises in Coin News and current advertisers in Spink etc.
