Peter replied to mhcoins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Amazing hoard (I wish I had a spare £9.5 kicking around.) -
The forum is good for alerting fakes and scum who import the Shang Hi silver. Look at the Alibah bah site .

As I said a lot of deals were done for fish on the beaches around our coast. If you can id landing points you could get lucky.Nothing better than beach combing on a fine winter day and ending up in the pub.

Wait to see some of Paulus's coins OK they are not copper but rather tempting. -
Imagine what is worth when lost. We holiday in North Norfolk with our Springer. Apparently lots of deals were done on the beaches...ie coins I have found fossils and amber but no groats (a few coins) I get up early and bring back hot bread for early risers...usually me. I get hot crabs but don't tell Mrs Peter. She likes the Rock(Peter)

There is a clear difference between the polished and "normal" finish. It is a mule as there was an unintentional mix up of dies. Rather than prolong an argument.I'm putting my head in the sand and this is the last I shall comment on the subject.

Thanks Chris Top quality and rare coins have been flying. The last couple of DNW auctions had their estimates smashed.and yet Baldwins didn't sell a lot of lesser stuff. I often do google searches on particular coins and you will be shocked how the high end stuff has increased. -
Looks French (Lion of St Peter reverse) ?

I w0uld try ebay initially. Maybe £4.2k- BIN £4.5k and see if you get a bite. Pity about the obverse scratches. As you know it is a R3. At the end of the day it is your decision.. -
I never know with your sense of humour Peter. £3.6k for the William I penny... Nice score Geordie was the blue tack extra. I must have 10 Bury mint ED 1,2 & 3 and I'm still not happy You are right quality costs Over £4k for the William I cannot justify (I have a Lotus Elan on my shopping list to put in the garage with my MG)

Damian That is a fantastic coin. £3.6 + juice for an Ed1 London WOW
