Irish Coin Pics. Anyone?

A bit rough but I like it A -
Trouble is the coin market is only a fraction of their business. It was and could again be a good market place for coins. Sellers need more protection but to stop the crap sellers.I would like to see £1 listing fees. I haven't sold since 2012 but have loads to sell again. Where else can you shift coins under £100? Anything over £15 goes recorded and £50 special delivery. I won't give up on it yet.

Chris is being polite. I would suggest you buy Collectors coins GB for about £7.(Amazon or from this site...it is also on ebay) Look on Ebay and don't overgrade. Maybe Gran had a few rarities. All pre 1947 silver has a bullion value. Good hunting and maybe become a new collector.

Big Piss Off Re Packaging!
Peter replied to Coinery's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I've just bought Chris's latest post decimal coin book. Collecting on the cheap. I've also just got British Coins Market values 2014. They are so out of touch on copper/bronze. Very few known varieties ...Whoosh. However they have so many advertisers. Mrs Peter works from home telesales.I have discussed her workload and I reckon I will approach Chris with an idea. I need to put a spreadsheet together to see how wrong they are on their pricing. All part of the plan. Their price for a 1771 1/4d in VF is £45 no types ID'd. 1859 VF for £15 The book is going to the bottom of the pile......of shite. -

Surely a quality coin wouldn't feel at home in your old bargie thingie. You keep buying these modern coins. -
Most Expensive British Coin
Peter replied to Nordle11's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Madness But the subject matter is all modern (to UK standards). Plus we seem to still have plenty of Gems going back over 2000 years....Supply and demand? & each to their own. -
1797 George Iii Coin
Peter replied to ColourOD's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
What dia is it? It will be either a shilling or sixpence with hearts. It is sterling silver but a very common coin. -
Ashmore produced many coins (especially for the US market) They were sucked in. This was back in the 60's but many still are about. It is worth getting an example and the majority of sellers describe them as Ashmore.
-
Centles reputation is even scorned in the US and Canada. As I said I've bought a few coins and been more than happy. There used to be huge listings of UK coins on Ebay.com Midnight oil sniping. He once listed a 1874 1/4d both G's over without a clue. I tried but it was a London meeting the next day. I didn't get it.
-
I have a couple of Ashmore's tucked away. Part of collecting I suppose.
-
NNC are self slabbers (Centsles) He doesn't post to the UK now. I have bought a few coins in the past but just ignored the grade.

I'm working on releasing funds from dead savings accounts.I will then be able to compete. I really have a taste for chasing a few quality pieces that Mrs Peter has agreed I can. -

Help me I've just bought Mr Perkins latest decimal coin book. I shall be raiding Mrs Peters purse.

I was harsh in describing them as scrap. Everyone starts somewhere Maybe a trip to a coin fair and search some of the dealers bargain tins.
