  1. Lets not go there again Regardless of belief my youngest has just returned from taking our dog for a swim in the river and commented that everyone she met were so nice and friendly.
  2. I tend to talk to myself. My girls arrived home at 1am this morning and knocked up a curry(I wonder where they got that from?) Kitchen is a midden.
  3. Off topic? us!!! I'm still playing catch up with farthing varieties from ebay and fairs. I've got a few non UK dealers who use Krause(sometimes Spink) I'm looking forward to a good 2014 and wish the same for everyone.

    1904 Penny Varieties

We've had an unlisted variety sticky before....this is why CCGB is on the ball. Now 1,2 & 3 are between dots and 4 is to dot. The jury is out at Peter mansions.
  5. I can convince myself on anything. I try to be in control but I can be a coin, car, motorbike, wild idea tart. There is a chance in the new year that I might be going back to (working for a company). Mrs Peter recently has gone from rags to riches in her career so I might just tick along. Trouble is I can buy what I like as long as I run it past it her 1st.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

BFH for you.....lets see what you could of won. (some poor punter living in a Birmingham council high rise could of won a speed boat). Classic TV though

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

I wonder if this will sell? The reverse is worse....maybe £5 - £10 would be the expectation. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Great-Britain-Penny-Cartwheel-1797-Extremely-Rare-11-leaf-/281226504828?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item417a67ea7c
  8. I haven't noticed this one before but other varients of die problems to the edges. A keepsake rather than a money maker I would say.
  9. I can't resist the nice plastic sets of these (I have a few now ) Also the proof sets of this year are easy.
  10. With mother and other family coming around I have been tidying under strict supervision. Wrapping to do,...final shop and pick up the capon tomorrow.....plus Santa's bottle of malt The MG also needs a polish because I intend to go on a Xmas morning spin around the country lanes....pre malt. Everyone have a great holiday.....I will be about
  11. I think a lot of the younger members found girls. What happened to Geoff T? I think Andy Bruce changed direction away from coins. There are still a few old members about They know who they are. Going on the forum over Xmas is a welcome break.

    Question Re: 1787 Silver Issues.

Good work Peck. The George 111 also seem quite robust/harder silver than earlier issues.
  13. I've had a good look and some interesting coins there. Worth another look.

Richard 111 is also rhyming slang.
  15. "...goodie goodie yum yum". Watch out for giant kittens and black puddings! An apt name for our farthing.I'm sure Colin will be delighted

Don't let your guard down. I will vouch and recommend that most members are 100%. Go and get your coin authenticated (did I say that?) Not all coins are difficult to ID but when coins made from Royal silver plates it does become more difficult.

Angela Bite the bullet and send it to CGS coin graders. If it is real they will slab and guarentee it. If it hasn't got provenance or proved dodgy it will be worth melt. These coins were cut from silver plate so many fakes are about and are still being manufactured.

You pay your money and take your choice. If you don't read around your subject expect to be burnt.
  20. There does need to be a cut off but I agree with Peck. If Coin News shaped up with some good write ups apart from modern tat. I may even buy it again.

I would suggest a slabbing company. It really needs to be investigated by hand. Use CGS and it will cost you about £30+ I would take the advice of forum members...Dodgy. good luck
  22. That is a solid EF dingless and not bad for a lump of good cu.
