1820 looks if it can grade VF. They all are warts and all images. Very light hairlines on the half crowns which wouldn't show in hand. I will guess on the values 1)Depends on edge details. There are five types.Probably it one of the 2 commoner types which would retail between £80 to £120 2)retail about £70 to £90 3)retail about £60 to £80

I concur with Peck on the attractiveness of both coins. The crown F/GF The half crown approaching NVF.
  3. Right about the too many. What was the attraction? I hate to think how many I would need to drink to pluck up the courage and purchase that one. My one is so worn I like to upgrade...even the horrible pennies. I would like to get a top 69(wouldn't we all chaps ) The 71 was an example and I can get rid of the existing.

    Found old uk coins/need HELP

Should buy a nice meal at the local Indian. keep posting. I usually start at 99p and they tend to end up at the market price. Although bulk up the damaged silver. Don't bother selling modern bronze.
  5. I bought this recently (after too many Speckled hens) I shall aim at a few BU common dates Viva Declan. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171050142947
  6. Mrs Peter has a Hyundai SIII coupe and I have recently sold my 1.9 turbo Vectra with a view to buy an Estate but Dog/family friendly. Plus my DIY is an important part of what I enjoy. You can't put a door or smelly springer in a Porsche Cayman.

    Found old uk coins/need HELP

Hi All the pre 1947 silver has bullion value. Pre 1947 is 50% silver and pre 1920 92.5%. As Peck stated condition is the key.
  9. Bob So your lottery numbers came up. That is a pretty penny.
  10. I bought a case of Newcastle Brown then worked away for a week and Mrs Peter and her friends gulped the lot. To her credit she bought me 3 Speckled hens tonight but all I can find is 1 left and a bit of snoring. I wouldn't change her for an UNC 1693 & 1717 farthing...offers welcome
  11. It gives me sanity when every other bugger gives me grief. I log on and it gets better I do like you boys/girls but not in a biblical sense.

Only kidding Rob. We are still looking for another buy. I find the horrid market in work has sent me into early retirement. I have bought the 3m ladder, wallpaper stripper and we can both tile etc. We have just adapted.
  16. Copper/bronze under ground is a big NO the only stuff which is nice is from the Thames mudlarkers or from a nice sandy soil.
  17. Depends on date and variety. Even in Uncirculated. A 1935 or 36 may only get £1
  18. I love this forum. There are so many smart ar5e's or I must be lacking in the old grey matter?

Rob you snob. We did the lounge, dining room and hall in laminate. We now have a cartoon dog. The first 20 strides he stays in the same place....especially when the front door is rung BTW I've just had a speckled hen with the remains of Fathers day brunch...trouble is it was the last one.....a cuppa then 40 winks looks on the cards.
