    An alternative to Ebay?

Ok.. just to measure opinion, what are your thoughts on these sites? www.certifiedgbcoins.com and www.coinsale.co.uk Edit by Chris: I've left the names there, but removed the links. Mentioning competitors is ok, but I don't want them linked to, as it can help improve their search engine rankings, and why should I want to do that!

    Coin Software

It is a damned good idea tho.. a lot of work, for sure, but if completed, would be invaluable. Maybe a collaboration of a number of people could pull it off?

    An alternative to Ebay?

Averages around $1.80 to the £1 (I have an American wife going back to the US tomorrow) I was more worried about the descriptions, and then no images...

    I'm a Cow now.

    But where is the cow?
  8. I've just read through all 9 pages, and whilst initially annoyed that my company had banned 'internet auctions', I am now quite relieved. Having said that, one good thing about all these is that it gives the newbie, through this forum, an idea of grading etc. If the pic is a good one, then instead of just going ugghh etc etc put on a more appropiate grading, as far as you can judge, and then people can maybe get an idea for future reference. All in all, regardless of whether the idea is taken up or not, I still won't be able to see the pics

    New to the hobby

Hi Fin, I'm also from Northern Ireland!! One of the most important questions there is 'How do I look after them?' Take this from me DO NOT TRY AND CLEAN THEM!! Believe me, I learn't this the hard way! Anyhow.. I'm trying to find a coin collecting club here in Norn Iron, and if I do I will let you know on this site. I do know there is a wee coin dealer who goes to St Georges market in Belfast every Friday, so if your parents can get you down there, you could have a rummage (after me of course:)). He may be there on Saturdays as well, I'll let you know on here. Failte

    New to the Forum..

Hi Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Neill and I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I have been collecting coins since I was a wee lad..the usual story of being given a coin by an older relative.. at 27, and with the usual episodes called life happening, my collecting has been pretty much non existant. Happy to say, my appetite has been re whetted and the oul fire in the heart is lit and raring to go again. This forum is a great idea BTW.

    New to the Forum..

Neill is a mans name, regardless of the spelling. Variations are Neil, Neal, Niall and Niadh. I think you may mean O' at the start of a mans surname, and Ni at the start of an unmarried womans name. Both Gaelic, and I can't speak that. As for the soldiers, well my family are full of them.. anyhow.. I specialise in nothing in particular, but have a sort of drawing to anything which I find culturally relevant to me. UK coins, with various heads, years etc and because my wife is American, I have started trying to get older American coins. Pre 1921 Irish coins interest me greatly, but those after don't really hold the same interest, and because we use the same coinage as you guys, specific Northern Ireland coins don't really exist. I suppose that makes me eclectic Thanks for the greeting guys!!
