    1861 Penny identification

I'm on my cell phone so it's difficult for me to see on the small screen... However, in the order posted, they appear to be an F-22 (4&D), an F-32 (6&F) the rare variety, and an F-25 (4&G). Possibly someone with a large screen can confirm or refute my assessment.

    1862 Penny Varieties

Not to mention the 1862/1 ...we'll ignore the different date placements What are Michael's rarity ratings? I know that with Freeman R8 and R9 stand for "not especially scarce", but I assume MG's are different. I'm not home now and don't have my copy with me.... There should be a rarity scale listed within. He also attempts to note the quantity known on the rarer varieties but with new discoveries being made those numbers are always subject to change and should be used as a guide and not accepted as gospel...

1863 one penny confusion, help please :)

No, I didn't mean the date. Have a look at the right hand side of the obverse - do you see a very much larger than usual gap between the teeth and the linear circle? I've rotated the image the correct way up, and it's still there. Particularly noticeable by REG.F I believe it to be an optical illusion, inasmuch as the linear circle is barely visible on most of this coins obverse. The lettering appears to be the same distance from the border teeth although it seems farther because the linear circle is not apparent between the two (the teeth and the lettering)

1863 one penny confusion, help please :)

I'm on my cell phone... so the image is smallish... however it looks to me to be a normal 3 F-42 ...... Not a half-penny date... Not an open 3, nor a slender 3... No indication of a die number...

could be shadows, but I think I see a hint of a line on both... You have it in hand, so I will defer to you....

That looks like a distinct trace of 2nd line on the LHS? Yes, a very faint mark.... I don't know what happened to the rest of the line.... with the partial line indicated

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

I'm on my cell phone.. small screen, however I concur...I see nothing to indicate a beaded border on either side... The reverse is toothed and the obverse appears to be the same... I can't determine the Freeman number from the images though... If I was forced to hazard a guess though, I would lean towards an F-13.... Poor quality coin and small screen conspire against me... I've just taken a closer look on a larger screen and indeed the obverse does appear to be a round bead border making the coin an F-8 although I can not be 100% sure from the images....... A VERY POOR and undersireable specimen though.... if indeed it is that variety after all....

    1694 Halfpenny BRITANNI\A

Fascinating provenance.... E. Bramah (He wrote an early work on copper) C. W. Peck (He wrote the last definitive work on copper along with the first major study of bronze) A nice coin to have for that alone.

The paypal portion of the refund is actually a refund of the fee that you paid to paypal for the excess portion of the funds paid to you... Paypal is not actually paying any portion of the refund.. It is just your money being refunded to you..

    Query on 1860 bronze penny

Freeman obverse 4..... he doesn't differentiate between the fishtail cut or the central cut ribbon.... GOUBY obverse G... LCWYON below bust with central cut ribbon.... Again, there are subvarieties which I can't determine on the small screen... But Satin-18 or Gouby-S is probable...

    Query on 1860 bronze penny

I'm looking at my cell phone... small screen.... but BOTH coins appear to be obverse 4's with a Central Cut Ribbon.... can't tell sub-varieties though from this screen....
