  1. Hi Guys, I have just noticed that i have 2 different 8's on the 1835 farthing, both are in crap condition but one of the 8's looks like a B Have taken a shot of both dates as close as i can get it. Its the lower date....... can it be worn?? only in the curve area? Cheers James

Yep that is correct.... The old haggis was made because in the old days (whenever they were) the Scots didn't like to waste food so all the parts of a sheep that were not consumed in the "normal" manner were all stuffed into the intestinal bag of the said sheep, cooked then eaten. Basically all the sh1te thats left and the introduction of the deepfried mars bar etc goes to prove we like our food. Remember us Scots are tight.... we invented copper wire!!!! 2 Scots fighting over a penny James
  3. Hi Guys Thanks for the answers so far...... Looking at the farthings i have for 1835 (7 of them) the three on this particular coin is also different could it possibly be a 3/6??? Is my initial question regarding the 8 Having the flat left side to look like a B classed as an error?? Cheers James

Im a Scot, ... sorry Jock..... Sorry Haggis Hunter....... ahem! Anyway i always found it funny when we used to call the "English" Sassenachs when in fact the word means Lowland Scot (which i am), long past are the days where i used to go hunting for haggis, far better from a butchers and the little sod could fairly move too!! I live and work in England now and have many good friends who all say "see u Jimmy" i laugh it off as i think its funny........ i always hear of 1966 blah blah blah but i always remind folks down here of 1977 lmao we took your goals!! All light heated comments please and no i dont wear a kilt, i dont have ginger hair and my names no Hamish Jim

    What's your Buzz?

I like that too, i started buyng some foreign gold on ebay and have struck lucky a couple of times. Im sorting through a massive collection that was left, about 20 times more coins than i had collected over 15 years as a "mere beginner" my biggest buzz now is finding a coin that i know is expensive and not many people have.!! a good example is a very nice 1854 florin in brilliant nick.... not selling..... One day the wife may understand why i get so into it. I will do a website when i finish sorting them out and photographing them to keep a tally on them. All the good ones are locked up in a bank vault now..... too scared as i live in a semi rough area where "they come back an nick the milk from your tea after they took the sugar" James
  7. Hi all, Still sorting through this load of coins and i have come across a 1806 half penny probable grade is a Good Fine. On closer inspection of it i can see an A below the R & I of Britannia and the right leg of the A is directly above the third leaf up on the olive branch. I have tried to photograph it and scan it but can only see it through an eye piece...... my wife can also see it. I do have another coins the same and it is not on that one. Any Ideas????
