  1. deosnt surprise me, 1981 wasnt excatly a date important enough to save a coin from, that and the mintage.
  2. hard to say, trying to work on a method for picking them. namly, curculation life of a coin (ease of wear etc, how often a coin is used day to day) the mintages, and events of the year (people saving coins of that year etc) still hard to find anything except the usual 1992 dot to dot 10p and small head 1992 20p there is very little in general coinage 1992-97 20ps never seem to wear lol pennies and 2p's usage is low IMO (getting common to find 90's copper with some lustre) 5p? i dunno tbh. 10p, 2008 old design and dot to dot. but mainly nothing there 20p, a few noted ones, but hard wearing is in a issue for saving the higher grades 50p, not much post 97 to get excited about £1. this is the way to go, high curculation life (or easy wearing) with a couple of nicer dates (1988 and 2008 old design) £2. low mintage but probably kept back more oftendue to designs, but plenty here to save. its not as fun as back then i admit lol boring years are the way to go
  3. ahh yes, i want my farthings prices to go into the strasophere i think it is a great idea, and i possibly have one thats an unlisted type, i emailed about, which is a possible but not certain >.<, if farthings were to get an encyclopendia, where would this put the undevalued 1858 small date and other scarcitys. there is always halfpennys of course.
  4. if it was carrying anything it would possibly have been miliary secrets, it happend in WW2 to try and entice the americans into WW2 and tbh, the state of the german economy in 1918 was a mess. and as for WW1 itself, i find it a great area of collection, lots of notsgeld, tokens from prison camps etc.
  5. that medal is quite stylish, i'm surprised that it doesnt have that font they used everywhere.
  6. shame belgian coins are boring french medals are the best imo. but yea show em, i have nazi oins, what differance does it make really.

    The Euro

i have been to the eurozone a few times. french euros seem to pop up everywhere, got one in finland a few months back when i was there for the day O.O
  8. i had a look through my pennies again.. my 1934's wern't there so i put those seperate anywho, i found a couple of interesting bits shame it is a dark picture, but it has partual filled 2 this is a holed 1896, whether whatever caused this was man caused or not, the tide is only visible when you shine it in thelight (angle it and the light refelcts back as faint line that is the tide) but you can see it at the lower rock line near the foot.
  9. it does have the french look to it. but that thing is very bizzare, interesting history about it.
  10. yes i have one of the filled 2's in average grade. might have to look at my 34's again
  11. 2.94) Freeman 188*, Dies 2+B, part filled date numeral 2. the 1920 filled 2? that 1934 sounds interesting.
  12. i think they have, 1945's were mint darkened and there is wear the colour is just wrong

    1861 Halfcrown

looks alright to me, wear seems about right as my 1882 is similar. but i cant find anything on that date existing
  14. what caused this strange lustre
  15. the coin isnt the best, but look at the shame of the I it gets chunkier near the rim.
  16. definatly over something. what are the thoughts on this? I over I?
  17. i got a 2010 penny here, cuds on a fair bit around the ONE PENNY, but this could be part of the situation, we talk of lustre, however this coin has an interesting effect, it has a bright lustre in a circular area in the middle of both sides, with a darker lustre from rim to the same distance from the ONE PENNY, is this TWO differant wavelengths?

Getting good value from Selling !

i pick up bargains at my dealer all the time. might be best to try #2 as you then have more control over the prices. or try a car boot, larger ones you will find dealers turning up. or make a website
  19. i have a couple of coins that have the lustre colour but no shine on it.. its definatly not the metal mix or dirt what is tonong anyway
  20. yes the alloy effect is very bizzare when you get the streaks. but tonong still has the cartwheeling, and i have brown coin as well, with the sheen and no cartwheeling on proofs, the polished dies make no waves?
  21. i have an interesting example of protected lustre never sene lustre on low grade before i have a coin that is brown, however the fields are shiny, lustrous, but dont have the colour toning to me is still lustre, if it had lustre when it started, and only thing that has made it tone/fade is natural causes and not handling then the grade should not change. especially as those streaky compount bronze coins brong an interesting point, some bits shine better then other parts because of metal mix.
