  1. why do the mint want our money... they make the stuff O.O
  2. i only have those plastic coin holders for the decent stuff, i try and keep lustred copper out as i worry about reactions and such. they are ideal for my lower budget until i can get some trays or cabinet. but storing farthings and US cents will be hard as i have a fair few of those as for toning

    Check Your Change 2008 Edition.

probably in piggy banks, tins etc I find a fair chunk of 90's stuff in EF, even found a 1983 pound with full lustre a few years ago
  4. yes, and it was enlarged not shrunk, but yea all 92 issues should have large head, dunno why there are small head 20p's
  5. its a minor resize its the same portrait i have both types look at the neck if you cant see much differance
  6. small head and large head they changed the head size in 1992, small head was 85-91 and is scarcer
  7. fairly low mintage yea, and therer were 2 types
  8. dang, i want that 50p so bad interestingly the only other part of the set is the old design 20p, i have only ever seen one, i have 2 each of the 2 and 10p's and about 4 or 5 of the £1

    1926 Penny

some places still have those old machines complete with the pennies to run them. just have to find them
  10. some examples of fake £1... some a good some are terrible, i will have more other coins as i get them http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=965646 1998- pound, best fake pound i have found.... one major flaw.... no pounds were made in 1998 http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=964116 - one of the most rediculous , dated 1993 with the celtic cross design (not used until 96) and the design is so poor and its not even struck aligned http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=964117 - 2000, more reasonable again alignment it wrong and legend is thicker then normal, detail is not good either http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=964499 what do you think about this one? http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=965685
  11. something probably got on the dye, quite cool though

    1862 1/2D 2 over 2

well there are some listed variants with 1 over 1's etc
  13. nit of an odd one, most listings for "over" are usualy simple repunches on top of the old one, this is a repunch but the 2 is differant totally, some 1862's had a sloped 2 , this has a stright 2 over slanted 2 http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=966090 is visible on here but not that detailed click this to get a larger image, its clear on there.
  14. i'll sell every 20p i have with no date on heads for 21p.... except my 1992's and my 2008 old design
  15. i origonally kept this back for the reverse off centre error, never took much notice on the obverse until someone noticed something missing... there is no dot at the bottom of the obverse, no reason for there to not be, strike looks clean enough (no fading of detail near the dot location, no scratch, its just... not there) i wonder if there a dodgey batch with no dot?
  16. another fake 20p, doesnt look right, obverse legend is too thin, and the strange grey colour. http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=969159
  17. 1992 20p. there were two types only 31,205,000 minted (thats not many if you look at other years) in total and there were two types... the small head (1985-91) head and the large head (93-97) the small head is rarer (i wonder if thats a mule?)
  18. is it this type? currently? not much as its pretty much unknown, one to perhaps keep away safe for the future... 1992 is a great date for 20ps too
  19. another one that is terrible http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=969054
  20. seen some UNC stuff in the post office a few weeks ago.. but anything "new" recieved has been 2008.... i'll keep an eye out

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

wth? rare 2 p new pence 1971... 2 bids lol link
  24. firstly, which would you have, i have got this from the royal mint site mintage 1988 --- 7,118,825 2008 --- 3,910,000 (Royal Arms) so the 2008 has half the mintage of the 1988 (well more) yet i havn't seen a 1988 in a few years, i'm hording these based on those figures (strangly enough i have 4 of them and only have 2 of the other type...) so would keeping these £1's be more desirable in the future then the 88's as people do not know about the rarity yet? or will it be that 1988's will always be more desirable
