  1. Hi Chris, I bought the coin on ebay as a sixpence having previously bought a shilling from a reputable dealer in Hampshire. When the "sixpence" arrived it was more or less the same diameter as the shilling. I wasn't sure about the difference in size between a shilling and sixpence in that eras so I thought I would check. Thank you for your help. Gary
  2. The shilling should be approx 25.5mm and weigh 6.0g, the sixpence 21mm and weigh 3g. David Thank you for the information David. I believe the coin I have is a shilling. Regards, Gary
  3. HI, Could someone tell me if there is a significant difference in diameter between the 1745 Lima sixpence and the shilling. I bought a coin that was sold as a sixpence but it isn't very different in diameter from a shilling that I already have in my collection. Many thanks. Best regards, Gary
