can anyone tell me what this is?

Im not quite sure , it looks really rough on that picture but its actually really smooth and i really dont think its a stone. Ive had it for years and never thought anything of it but i was looking at some rings and chains on a stall a few days ago and the woman asked to look at it and she said its an old coin and that i should get it looked at. Its plain on 1 side then the other side (as the picture shows) looks like a backwards "K" which is the 1st initial of my son which is why i wear it. Also it smells like copper. If any of that helps.
  3. If anyone can tell me anything about it, it would be very much appreciated
