Again, a no brainer anti democratic move. In the last "common market" referendum in 1975, another older generation voted, most of whom are now long dead. Where do you draw the line, 60, 65, 70, 75? Well arguably even someone of 75 could have another 25+ years, and are therefore just as much a part of the future as a 20 year old.

Me too, Prax, and thanks for the other info. Many of Steve's coins were at the high end of high end, and he has conversed with many of us on here, over several years. We were the first to find out he was selling his collection when Pete posted the Copthorne collection thread, as well as already familiar with his stock via his collection website. So it was inevitable than many of his coins would end up with us. Although as Rob said a few weeks ago, maybe the market is thinner than we imagine - don't know. Incidentally I tried to like the above quoted post of yours, but I kept getting the message "you are not allowed to give this user reputation points" or some such. Tried on a different post of yours and that worked. The only thing different about this one that I notice (on my PC at least, which is not necessarily the most reliable indicator, given the issues I experience trying to show pictures), is that the post is in a different font to normal.

It's a high stakes gamble for Johnson who is obviously aiming for Cameron's job. If the Brexiters lose it's curtains for his credibility, and Cameron will make sure he's history. I agree with that. In fact the reality is precisely the opposite to what is being asserted from some quarters. The NHS relies on immigrant staff to keep going, and to treat an ageing population. Without them it might be "death by default" - the elderly not receiving treatment.

Mind made up - voting leave. Had enough of our country being bossed from abroad, but more importantly, worried about uncontrolled migrantion from the EU and the unwitting import of embedded terrorist cells, not to mention the severe property/accommodation shortage. I appreciate there will be some financial issues arising, but long term, I think it's for the best. I do think, however, that remain will win, and there is a slight bounce in their favour following the tragic death of Jo Cox last week. .

Maybe in some cases they're just accepting what the vendor says about the coin. Or, possibly, if there's any "provenance" which got it wrong initially, they're taking the lazy way out and not re-checking themselves. That 1896 fetched £500 by the way - lot No 3193.

Thanks. I reckon the F77 is actually somewhat scarcer than generally thought, especially in high grade. Although Jerry picked up a nice one recently.

It is, Pete. I've been trying to get an F14 for several years. They don't come up that often and when they have, they've always previously eluded me. So to obtain this one so easily, relatively speaking, was a rare moment of triumph. Also pleased with the F74 specimen. Only need the F77 now to complete the entire 1874 series.
