That happend in my home town a few years ago (right next corner) ;-)

Which one of the 3 is in the greatest need of help? Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell or the woman - whoever she is? Amanda Burton? I agree! I thought I was listening to The Pav when he opened his mouth. Amanda Holden. Oh yes. There's an actress and an airhead. I got them mixed up. -
That Liberian coin is fascinating. It appears, from the 'ghosted' portions of reverse, that he may have simply re-used and re-engraved a Cartwheel twopence or one penny die? It would be interesting to know the dimensions of the Liberia coin.

Peck is probably one of the best authorities on Taylor.

It's difficult to say with that glare-y exposure, but I'd say it was certainly better than VF - it COULD be EF, but we'd need better pictures.

Yes. eBay. When you make a purchase from The Royal Mint you're not simply buying a coin, you're owning a piece of history.

Wow. Your English is so good I would never ever have guessed it isn't your first language. A lot of Europe is like that. Within a few years of my wife coming here, my customers didn't realise she was foreign when she answered the phone. and her grammar is better than the locals' You live in Manchester, don't you Rob? -

Omni Coin Advice Please!

Looks ok to me ("VG" is a bit optimistic for that Willie IIII halfcrown reverse ) -
Is that really you saying that Azda..??..lol ! I think there's a certain member of parliament he'd make an exception for I didn't think Alex Salmond was a Westminster MP yet! The MP I'm thinking of would get all his non-existent cronies to ensure any vote went his way

I can't remember the price. I can't even remember if they were good value. I just wish I'd got one.

Colin Cooke had a reasonable quantity of Cnut pennies in the 90s, perhaps from a hoard. I didn't buy one at the time, and wish I had.

Infinitely better, I'd say!Not perfect though by a long stretch. These dies tend to appear in a fairly knackered state with either a load of rust spots or die fill. They must have been used to destruction, but at some point were new, so someone should have an example of what they are supposed to look like. It's quite possible that the force used in striking was insufficient to fill the die, as a lot of the halfpennies are very weak on Britannia's head and in the laurel area of G2. I think in this series you will need a full lustre example in hand to determine whether the cause for weakness is strike or a filled die unless the weakness is out of proportion to the rest of the design. Yes, I'd say so too. There are weaknesses both sides of the CGS example. But as Rob says, the dies were used to destruction: 1754 copper, and 1758 shillings, were minted long after, probably well into Geo III reign.

You're from Denmark? I never knew that. -
Lancasters are 4-propped planes! I was curious about the flying fighter planes, perhaps they were ME109s? They're definitely not Spitfires, but could be hurricanes at a very imaginative push?I think the sky scene are meant to represent the Luftwaffe? Not sure though? Def two spits on the ground though! They can't be fighters though, not flying in that bomber formation - unless they were trying to confuse Fighter Command! I'm proposing that the twin-engined planes are Dornier bombers, and the single-engined planes the ME109 fighter escort?Yes, that makes sense. Either way, it's a crap execution - muddy and indistinct.

Spink Coins of England 2015
Peckris replied to Nick's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
This is where - unless you're a dealer - getting Spink annually seems a somewhat wasted expense. I'd say every 3 years, except when times are volatile?
