Lol, looks like Ingrams Have deleted me as i have'nt seen that Post. When they were posting previously with their "high grade" coin blurb with their usual 6 foot away from the coin picture i would download it, crop out The shite and re-upload in the comments And you could see the coin not being as high grade as stated, Obviously the Reason they like pictures at distance

Still an expensive coin

Well, after a small arguement with the seller and me sending him my picture of my i.m tun shilling he's seen sense and taken it down, mine has the tun mark fully struck and shows the edges which are a little serated on the edge of the mark which i assume he thought were the fingers of the hamd i.m of ER I No apologies though
-
Yes, around11 years
-
From the hand mark of ER I to the TUN. Mark is around 46 years and a king inbetween, so in theory why would'nt James I use it if the spot priceof silver was higher during his reign? The man is just looking for a stooge

His explaination Under magnification it shows hand mm. Charles 1 did not have this mm. Charles 1 also re purposed other rulers coinage during desperate times. Information on Charles 1 re purposing past rulers coinage is limited. I'm not an expert on English coin oddities such as this one. The information I've provided is what I discovered through my own research. All input is welcome as these pieces are not well documented, and I'm always interested in learning.

Based on 20% commission that runs at around £1150, so someone i's hoping for a quick large profit. It will be interesting to see where it lands, whats LCs selling commission? I think 10%. Good on them? it's a bit of a risk as it's gonna have to hammer at just shy of £1300 to break even. Coming from America There will also be 5% import duty On the initial outlay so it has to sell at around £1400 to break Even. What lot number is it in LCs? -

The price of a 1918KN (or any such scarcity) is not really relevant, especially as you seem to have plucked a single price guide 'out of the air' so to speak. A coin like that will go for whatever someone is prepared to pay for it, and if that someone has deep pockets then what it says in price guides can be safely ignored. Yet on a different occasion, the same coin may go for half the amount as on the first. Your strategy - if bidding - is to bid up to the maximum you are prepared to pay for it, and to hell with the price guides. 2k ouch
