What a fantastic collection, good to hear that she has an interest in them, hopefully she will add to the collection. Thanks for sharing the images. (they look more gold than copper )And technically most of the coin in this section are new aquisitions which technically are also in the wrong place as there's also a thread for that. Some stunning stuff there Declan, dös she have children, i'm avaliable for adoption -

Fancy throwing them up on the forum and lets us have a drool? -
They're also not popular coins, i'm with the £100 Brigade, maximum, and even less from a dealer

Is this the old dear who had all that nice Gold Declan? Did she ever sell it? No - it's a different old dear! I've known her for years but she only told me the other day who her Dad was. No idea, of course, how important his collection was. For most of his life, his family didn't even know he collected coins. And no, she's still got the gold - she got quite interested in it after all that. She may even end up buying some more....! She only needs to sell the single most valuable coin and she could afford lots more! I remember! DNW estimated £20-25k for the Sharps-Pixley 1828. Not a collection I'm ever likely to forget going through... Yup, there was some nice coins in there, did you manage to get pictures of it all before she shut up Shop on the idea of selling? -
As Peck stated above, not many people will delve into a half bead wider etc.

The start of verdigris showing in the REV there, plus the small fingerprint. What was it graded as? -
I mentioned rarity peck not Vaiety, Freeman doess list rarity Levels
-
If you have a Gouby book it will tell you its rarity in there as will Michael Freemans book. For grade i'd say GVF

Personally they do nothing for me and they seem extremely light in weight. Probably a wrong planchet but 2 wrong planchets is just yet another mystery. The Daily Mail link also seems excessive with the "freak coin" blurb. The £1000 thats been quoted is to my mind a ridiculous price for. Sorry to put a downer on your auction, its merely my opinion as a collector of coins/history and not errors that the mint seem to produce more and more frequently

Otherwise as k the seller to send it as a letter and. to a Package or packet this way it will come straight through customs, i've had this several times from dealers in the USA and the German zoll let it go straight through the System. Only packets and such like are pulled here, letters are'nt. Wrapped between to pieces of coragated cardboard should protect the contents and save £20

-

Really?i've seen many at last years or the year before prices, but when its your own coin i guess you see what you want to. Big price increases come at the top end of the grade scale, and as has been pointed out, yours unfortumately is'nt up there. I'll stick though at my thoughts on price Maybe you can point out a smilar graded coin thats sold in the last few years so we can compare prices

Hmmmmm i don't think its been hot in the UK for 18 months running because thats how long eBay has been shite for, for coin auction values. As stated above, £70
