George and Elizabeth coins
azda replied to Rohan's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Errrrr no, yours is virtually a disc, but is .925 silver. The ebay one is overpriced as its on ebay. Take ebay coin prices with a pinch of salt. In order to get top $ for ANY coin they would have to be extremely high grade and the ebay one is'nt -

His reply just a few minutes ago Hi there, Of course it should not be such, that the information of the same coin is so widely different. I can only be honest with you and say that I'm relatively new to British coins and that I have learned that when selling to the British market it is better to be conservative with grading. I actually overvalued a lot of my hammered coins in the early stages of launching my website (jan 2014) which resulted in no sales and angry comments! I have tried to adjust this accordingly, but I can see that I have left the coins at MA-shops unchanged. As always when selling items in different places, there will be some regional differences and as the costs (seller fees) are sometimes widely different, pricing can be slightly different. But yes, I completely agree, the listings are way off when compared next to each other. I appreciate you passing on this feedback to me and I hope my answer to you is at least some explanation if yet still very unprofessional. Hopefully you will be understanding of newcomers to the field of British coinage and refrain from talking too negatively of me or my business in the numismatic community. I assure you that I'm an honest dealer with no intention of doing anyone over. Kind regards, Andreas The Coin Cabinet

Well heobviously hinks that no one would recogbisethe same coin as (i'm assuming) he thinks no British buyers would use a German site. In his eBay blurb he's been around 20 years, but i've only just seen him in the last 2 months on the German site and as you say Peck he's relatively new on ebay. 2 grades and 2 prices, one of which is for what i assume is for the German numpties. His eBay coin has also offers on which is to my mind quite a smack in the mouth for buyers from the German site. He also has an Eddie III groat with 2 different grades, although minimal but the higher grade is again on the German site
