  1. I'll answer my own post then..... .......reason I ask is I bid £2250 on the 1919KN (at the £1-2K estimate I think it was) and thought I was sure to get it. When I last mentioned the LC example on offer at £3250 in another thread, most thought it well over priced......so is this the way prices are going for top grade pennies? Certainly the LC coin looks nice, but it's been sitting around for a while (at least a year) which would leave me slightly suspicious that that it doesn't view quite so well in hand. Surprising they don't put it in one of their own auctions, as it's a fair amount of money to be tied up for so long. The reason they probably have'nt auctioned it yet is perhaps its too expensive and they know it
  2. Patience isn't one of my better atributes.....my problem is keeping track of which auctions are coming up. A diary page on the forum would be really useful. But then you'd be competing not only against the forum users but every other person that drops onto the forrum
  3. They obviously don't know the difference between a Gold sovereign and a phone, why has she written that its a phone thats missing?

    CGS - A customer-facing business?

No sorry if that's how it reads. The value as is now £110. My point was it should not make a difference to customer service whether the coin is worth X amount, but they have missed out on my future dealings as it could of totalled to the £1000's.If you want Bill to read your post it might be better to PM him you complete initial post as this will go to his email

They have a Munich office? I live in Munich yet never heard of that. Must check this out.
  6. There was a low and too end estimate on what i was checking, so obviously the start price was too high for the coin in the 1st place which also helps

    CGS - A customer-facing business?

Surely Investors in these sort of markets have people who do know how the coin market works. I would'nt go out and purchase shares to invest in as i woul'nt know which company is doing well and which is'nt, so in that respect, if they have that sort of wedge to Play with they'll also have people with Knowledge buying for them

    CGS - A customer-facing business?

Oooooh my favourite topic. So where is this NGC site, do they have a European grading house? I was thinking of shipping to PCGS in Paris as i'd previously read their site and last year if you joined at their top membership Level of €125 you could get 8 free gradings, they've now changed this and it costs €69 to join and €45 per coin plus €10 handling fee and then shipping back to you which needs to actually be arranged with PCGS as they don't normally ship. So all in all it can get expensive, and the costs need to be weighed up. So dös NGC have a European office and website?
  9. As i found out today, any lot number that has'nt been posted means it has'nt been sold. I emailed Semra Cetim as i was interested in a price of a lot which was'nt listed and she said that if the price was'nt avaliable then it was'nt sold

You're not allowed to sell anything nazi related in. Germany although it does happen, the fleamarkets are good placed too pick up bits and pieces although the deckels are normally covered. Anything that glorifies hitler is banned but hitler was never on the OBV of any coin, only the reichseagle. I read a few weeks back the mein Kampf book.which Hitler wrote in jail has been banned since the end of the war from being published, that ban is due to run out.
  11. IT looks like they are going back to their IT Department and using their own auction Software again. Oh well, looks like another Fine mess Stanley
  12. Spinks site is a pain in the arse, best to Write them down yourself

  14. Correct Peter, 4 Reales to be precise, lot 645. in my nice NEW shiny Krause book in XF is $600 or £359.As this is graded as a British EF it should technically be an American AU grade and therefor of higher value which Krause does'nt have and it will be sent to PCGS Paris along with the 5 Morgans that were recently purchased so i can maximise their FULL potential

The thing is I've already bought the coin. It was in an auction at a Spanish auction house and I now owe them the money.I am in the UK. I don't understand why a company based in Luxembourg is making a fuss even if it is US policy to think Cuba doesn't exist.Wikileaks is based in Sweden and the US GOVT has blocked any transactions to them those include Visa and paypal etc, the American Government really do think they own this Planet, sorry to our american friends on the forum, but it really Cheeseburger me off the way they think they run this planet of ours
  18. Lol, i did'nt go for the Crown, it was nice (the cheaper one) and its one coin thats on my List to buy but in Matt proof, i went a little Spanish/Mexican, lets see of you can guess from that
  19. I got mine at 20% under my max, so fairly happy at that. Just waiting on the invoice now.
  20. Someone got a bargain on the 2nd one then
  21. To hell with washers. Based on what the wife got tonight for an unc G5 penny, I shall be throwing anything up to EF (and probably beyond) in the bin. It simply isn't worth the effort to buy them for listing when they sell for a couple quid.Welcome to the wonderful World of ebay, its been poo for quite some time, everyone wants something for nothing
  22. I often wonder what yours would sell for, a frightening thought lol. I was mainly interested in those two 1902 Crowns too see what each went for, plus i had a Proxy on a Spanish coin

    Recent aquisitions

Problem being Peter is how old the books on CD are, they price guide could be well out of date as i've recently witnessed on a Spanish 8 reales i had, krause had it down at $100 in its grade, i sold it for £290, needless to say i've bought 1601-1700 and 1701-1800 Brand new a few weeks back so i hopefully don't make mamy errors on any other World coins i may sell in the future. I reckon buying new every 5-7 years should keep you in touch with prices (just)
