  4. I have a different problem in searching. My mother died when i was 2 years old and basically her mother and i believe her stepfather and that side of the Family took nothing to do with my Brother and myself. I assume after she was cremated they just pissed off and left my father and grandmother to bring us up, i'm not to sure i want to search for that side anymore, although i do have a lot of questions and gaps that need filling. My father and my grandmother were both pretty vague about the whole subject but i do know that my mothers mum and dad had a farm in East Grinsted? Called boylies farm, thtat's about as far as in went My father and grandmother are now both dead so a lot of info died with them

    Question Re: 1787 Silver Issues.

That still doesn't answer the grade issue, why they weren't worn out at the time?Minted in numbers? Plus the tokens that were likely still around, plus it being a relatively new coinage perhaps people were thinking it was'nt kosha Geld. Its certainly one to think about
  6. He dös have 1 or 2 decent Crowns in there, i've seen a lot worse.

    Question Re: 1787 Silver Issues.

Hmmmm, off the top of my head i could only go with that i don't find them a popular coin, much like the Bank tokens there is'nt enough variety or variation to be a collectable series. Just my opinion, i could be wrong though
  8. I think the toning of it would put be me off, a little too dark, although saying that, you then know its not been dipped. I also noticed the rubbing on the George and Dragon between the date but if you Look at a couple of others he has, they also have rubbing in the same spot. The 20% that Vicky mentioned is to obviously cover fees on ebay

    Scarborough Coin 1645

Will be good to see the other stuff also. If nothing, you've learnt a little bit surrounding the Scarborough coinage and a very interesting period of British history. If its tweaked your enthusiasm then why sell the other coins, you seem to have a good Base to further your great grandfathers collection
  12. They won't respond as they are Never wrong, in their eyes at least (null)

You seem to be getting a little stressd. The S D is in plain view in the Centre, Butt here is also a very small R D to the right of the coin, thats what was mentioned
  14. I just downloaded the Kindle app for my Mac - it works fine, so that looks like the way for me to go Did you Download the kindle Version Peck or the ePub version, i downloaded the kindle app, but just wanting to make sure which to download
  15. Think i'll Download it this time, i have last years in Paper form (which i generally prefer) but as Jaggy said, if you're on the go or at fairs etc it'll be good for a quick price reference. Wonder if Spink will go digital.
  16. Use a picture Hosting site such as photobucket and the copy the IMG url into your reply

Hmmmmm i think you might not be reading correctly Nicholas, it looks to be that its probably not genuine. The S looks very squint also compared to all the Lockett Plate pictures, the majority of those seem quite straight, that can of course be down to the strike, but looking at the both would make me wonder and also the RD stamped on the right hand side. Be cautious and don't get annoyed or upset at what the forum members might say, they are trying to help and Rob and historiccoinage are both very knowledgable in this area
  18. Just curious, but can this be downloaded for ipad? kindle is just a poor mams ipad

How does the price compare to the £290 delivered coin that went on eBay the other week?http://www.predecimal.com/forum/topic/8375-common-e1-6d-but-top-grade/#entry94906 When you look at the roses, you can see the extent of the varieties, not to mention the reverse differences, yet both 1561! Dave'll be digging his new book out and studying all this very soon! Still awaiting the book Stuart, and thats a decent Lizzie, much is that TG?
