Its perhaps not the design that people are buying them for, but instead the history of why those coins were struck in the 1st place. The sixpence did really well, if i'm correct, one had an estimate of £500-£600 and opened at £1400

azda replied to azda's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
You may have both read it wrong. The Puffen browser is INSTEAD of Flash player boys. The goblin is heating up, DNW in the comfort of the water bed and Silk Black sheets, the Goblin will have to do as serving wench for now -

Anybody win anything?

Turn the Sound off, it helps the lag. Just a quick thought here, but with Spink stopping coin sales will that mean they'll also stop publication of the yearly Price guide? Anyone know?

He does come up with the goods Paul, unfortunately 90% is Rather inflated/cleaned/dipped, its up to the individual if they want to chance it. I doubt he'll be overly happy at the price, i guess he was looking for £750+ unfortunately as i've also noticed, no one is buying on ebay right now, possibly waiting on the last few auctions of the year such as DNW tomorrow. -

Problem being, Martin Platt is the seller. £503 i doubt he'll be happy with that considering he wrote in his description Almost impossible to locate in any condition, this coin would make a wonderful addition to any serious early 18th century pattern halfpenny collection. A similar coin sold in March 2013 at auction for £750 although we believe this example to be superior. He was probably hoping for £750 plus -

I didn't think it was you, Bernie. I sat next to a penny collector who knows you well. There were other buyers in the room, 2 more on the phone and lots of proxy bids. Possibly our newest member then, Rashenly2? I know (if its the same man) that he's a serious penny collector also -
Ebay is just a joke right now, i'm not even going to bother until after the New Year, but it's definately a buyers market on there just now

Lol, thats probably a rogue spy satellite that the NSA has lost contro of. Speaking of morality etc and obviously not trying to get to deep into the subject of polotics, but when did the Government lose touch. This conservative bunch of actors has just NO IDEA of how to Govern. Behind closed doors their wallets are getting fatter and fatter while bleeding the underprivelidged dry, this is like going back to the days of Robin Hood, in fact its not even done behind closed doors. If this were the 1600s i could see why there was a civil war and i know which side i'd be on, they have completely lost touch with the common man, i read somewhere the other day that Cameron had a wee drugs problem a while back?
