A Spare Few Minutes And A Bit Of Imagination Later ...

I seriously wonder what it is that you're looking for exactly when coming up with this sort of sh**e Richard :-) -
So i'm a member of a metal detecting Group on Facebook and this coin used to belong to one of the members before he sold it (through ebay) to the now seller, here's what he had to say about the coin fuming! that con man scratched out lines on his beard to the right of his face and then did fag ash trick he also cleaned the black stuff off it! I feel angry that I didn't clean it! also he is deceiving as there was 100% no beard visible at all on right side you can see close up the lines hes drawn in don't look the same on tge left side of his face! £46 the conning bastard! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hammered-Silver-Coin-Henry-VIII-8th-Groat-/321212570382 So if any of you lot bought it, you know what to do

Looking through Spink at the decimal section obviously the decimal changeover was in 1971 although the mint had introduced the 10 and 5p in 1968 into circulation Spink states that the copper was'nt introduced until 1971, so i'm assuming they were minted at the same time in 1968, but was the copper minted with the years 1968-69 and 70 up to the run up of 1971 and the changeover? The reason i ask is that i have a red cased specimen set with the coins all dated 1968

Jetton Guide Book/price Guide?
azda replied to Coinery's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Have you checked Galata for a Jetons Book? -
Well i agree with everything that's been said and he was adamnat they were 68 and he has them in hand so i could'nt doubt what he was saying. Obviously what he's done is read the 10 and 5p dates and then assumed the copper was the same date not realising the relevance of his mistake. Still, i'll get a picture when he gets back from work tonight just to make sure

Henry Vii Gold Sovereign Sold For £28,000 At Spink
azda replied to paulfrasercollectibles's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
How do people get away with selling what is'nt theirs? You obviously can't be taken seriously trying to make a killing on other peoples coins pretending that they are yours. Copyright infringement is against the Law i hear, you should maybe remove it before someone informs Baldiwns of what you're doing. -
They are an auction lot i bought with a friend of mine Peck, he took the pic then went to work, i asked him the dates on the copper and he said they were all 68, problem is, he does'nt get home from work until tomorrow and i've asked him to tell me what the copper is exactly.

How To Run A Customer Caring Coin Business

Peckris is over 100 and he's up to date on Computers True. I was only saying to Alan Turing the other day that IBM really should move out of calculators into the new Sperry-Rand valve machines - can't let ENIAC take all the credit You're great, Peck, you crack me up! You might want to worry about somebody that is talking to Alan Turing... ...even more if he actually understands what Turing says! I visited Bletchley Park last year, and left as utterly ignorant about how Enigma was cracked, as when I entered. There were some frighteningly intelligent people there during the last war, including Turing. His eventual fall from grace and demise were unfair and unfitting for such a great mind. Most gifted individuals tend to lose the Plot in their latter years due to the amount of grey matter they use during their Lifetime, or so i read. Peck is ok is that department as others just lose the plot naturally Yeah, but I can still spell... Really? And so since when was yes spelt yeah my American friend? -

Well i'll have to ask my buddy as he has this set at home and i asked him about the Dates and he said all were 1968, so will ask him again to make certain and Tell him to send me a picture of the copper OBVs

Big differences eh. Probably better to buy british coins such as those from British dealers/auction houses
-
Maybe because we've had it so good for so long, no huge price increases, Spinks listing the Commoner coins at silly prices and so on. Now the Rest of the World is seeing a bargain and the Feeding frenzy begins. Spink might be caught Short in their price Guide publication this year, it's only going to get worse at the top end. Move over Scott.........

Hi Peckris, in more recent times we have all the coins pictured and have the number of bids and what the current bid is. Yes just drop us an email and you can either receive the lists by post or we now do a PDF that is in full colour that we can simply email you. We do a general list every month and Farthing list 4 or 5 times a year. You are most welcome to receive either or both lists!PDF Sounds more practical than going through all the postage expense -

Well, nice to know who you are now NRP. I wondered who you might have been when you mentioned you wanted to spend 13k on the 3 Graces in the DNW sale. You'll notice that this forum talks a lot about shill bidders, where your forum shuts those topics down. I suppose it takes a large pair to stand up against these people and not let the smaller collectors get ripped off, Chris the forum owner has this balanced perfectly, hopefully you can do the same with your forum and not just delete because you get a phone Call from the perps in question. -
Totally agree Richard, its been a hell of a month for auctions

What are those worth nowadays compared to the kosher one? I also have a bernhard white fiver. Are you posting your Wins Clive so we can have a look?
