  1. I thought some of These Prices in their auction yesterday were a bit OTT and thw Gothic Crowns seem to be on the rise. All These are hammer, i think Künker has about 20% add on and Prices are in euros. I've also skipped some of the lower end coins http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778555 4600 (their estimate was 1600) http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778556 1600 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778557 440 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778558 4400 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778562 900 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778568 2000 (they had an estimate of 500 for this) http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778572 800 (estimate was 75) http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778578 5000 (Gothic crown, the next 3 are also Gothic Crowns) http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778579 5500 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778580 5500 http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=786&category=17135&lot=778581 6500 ( not as nice yet sell for 1000 more than the others, someone was desperate to win one)
  2. Oh yes. I followed his other eBay name, he had 20 Gold coins on and 1 bidder who i know because that bidder bought from me, that bidder had bidded on and was winning 12 of his lots to the tune of £5500. As soon as i'd listed and shared it on here every Single auction had gone within 30 mins that the bidder was winning but left the BINs. He definately reads these boards, how else would he have known to take the shilled coins off lol
  3. Beware of the shill bidding if bidding

    Recent Purchase

You'll never find all of the People agreeing about grading, some are stricter, others not, it's what Appeals to you and also your pocket. the 1st i'd say was F/GF, 2nd AVF and 3rd VF (best of the 3) If you find coins that you're maybe unsure of because of the Price, then just post an Image before purchase, you'll get many takers when asking about grade, cos we do like to argue debate about grades

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

I'm told it does'nt really matter about a Little more mis-handling, cos it's rare. Check the Pictures http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221240819361?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D221240819361%26_rdc%3D1

    Found old uk coins/need HELP

The flickr pics have worked, and by the looks of things your father already has the coins graded on the paper wallet. The F+ represents Fine plus or Good Fine. Check the other paper wallets for such. VF GVF EF etc
  9. Still rather buy the Merc than pay for a slab number, and that's all you'll be paying for, because that coin, however nice it might be is'nt worth that amount
  10. 2-3 times?????????? Ten times maybe. Oh and btw, Mercedes don't depreciate so fast like those aussie mobiles You'll lose something, but certainly not half
  11. But not $81,500 worth of beautiful. Could buy a decent Mercedes for half that price
  12. Lol, take 86p off the £1 it was worth for cleaning it
  13. Don't think you can Upload direct from the iPhone

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Even his ebay blurb does'nt make any English sense. I genuinely think this guy has lost the plot somewhere. I'm flying over to Scotland in November and may have to look up his addresss, knock on his door and slap some f*****g sense into him
  15. Well they were having technical issues yesterday during live bidding. Today the Website is down Oh and the sixpence i got

Welcome aboard, MRD, it is indeed a fine forum, with a large world-wide audience. There are people active on here, pretty much 24/7. However, when there's not, there's always plenty of reading to be done while you're waiting! Since we have finally tamed the Scots, I suppose you can now call it GB, but ESC, Peck, and Wren, still have this strange notion that there is such a thing as an English coin! Uprising to follow shortly Welcome to the forum

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

I'll have a dig around. See what pops up. PM sent. Looks a bit dodgy. r**6 has won an item from MP in the past and left feedback to the effect that he made a mistake with bid and the seller cancelled the sale (ie he was bidding up the price and won the item by mistake). God forbid he was'nt shill bidding lol

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Unfortunately i don't yet Nick, it has to be someone he knows though, or someone who's bought from them previously on his other ebay name

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Now here's a funny Thing. The winning bidder of the top link is now winning this one underneath, so why would our favourite ebayer let this ebayer place a bid if he did'nt pay for the bank token? r**6 (2620) Feedback http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1903-EDWARD-VII-HALFCROWN-SUPERB-HIGH-GRADE-EXT-RARE-/360672249816?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item53f9bdc7d8
  22. Fantastic stuff, but it should never have got this far in the first place. Overseas packages and VAT have cropped up on this Forum quite frequently this year. Hopefully those who intend to Import coins use the code provided by Martin in their correspondance with the sellers or overseas auction houses and pay the levy that is correct instead of 15% more which all adds to the cost of the coin.

The Rowley Butters catalogue sold by St James in 2008 of British hammered and milled crowns. A very nice collection indeed and worth a look through http://stjauctions.com/assets/applets/SJA9part1.pdf

I'd agree with Coinery regarding keeping it, you never know, it may encourage your son into collecting Coins, there's worse things he could do.
