"Of course I won't laugh," said the Nurse to the patient, "I'm a professional. In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient." "Okay then," said Bob, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the smallest adult male organ the Nurse had ever seen in her life. In length and width it was almost identical to a AAA battery. Unable to control herself, the Nurse tried to stop a giggle, but it just came out. And then she started laughing at the fact that she was laughing. Feeling very badly that she had laughed at the man's private part, she composed herself as well as she could. "I am so sorry," she said, "I don't know what came over me. On my honor as a Nurse and a lady, I promise that it won't happen again. Now, tell me, what seems to be the problem?" "It's swollen," Bob replied. . . She ran out of the room.

Where exactly is Ponterfract? Lol, i thought it was my spelling -
Won a coin in which the graded holder (NGC, should i be afraid?) states EF details. WTF is EF details? Does that mean GVF or VF? Anyone know exactly what it means?
-
I see. Thank you Azda, but let us still pose the question vis a vis BNTA membership and code of ethics. I don't know what their ethic codes are peterkin, you'd maybe have to ask a BNTA member but i don't think there is any on the Forum because all you need to apply is a VAT number apparently
-
He's not a BNTA member, he's not Even a dealer, he is however a shill bidder (or was) of the highest order and Ripped people for a LOT of money
-
No problem peterkin. I've seen pictures on here where the Details look incused instead of raised, its the eyes, someone explained it last time.
-
CGS are in the slabbing Business Peter, they can only do what someone submits i suppose.
-
Just to compare a dealers grade and a graded holder from PCGS grade, here are 2 coins. The 1st is PCGS graded MS 64 the 2nd is from a dealer which is still avaliable and was graded at GVF
-
CGS are in the slabbing Business Peter, they can only do what someone submirs i suppose.

Martin you mentionef only 10 of these exist, so 20 people could'nt own 10 Coins, or have i missed something? Where do These figures come from? ESC or some other source? Checked My ESC and the 1935 Edge error is R6 (3-4 known) you're now saying 10 which obviously means more have been found? Is the numbers populated by CGS by the amount they've slabbed?
-
Its not a bad grade but he's obviously angling for UNC money as he's stated the spink book price. I'd give it GVF from the pictures, REV wreath is kinda flat
-
lol what's a 'Plattipus shiller'? Ask Dave - it's his favourite subject, and favourite person.. I sometimes despair at the work you put into people like Platt and this numpty *surrey coins* only for people to continually buy from them. I just hope no one here has done or else i'm coming to your door with a pair of nutcrackers, there will be tears The other surprising Thing is that surrey has had only 2, Negs in 12 months. Obviously some very uneducated people out there. Oh BTW Peter, he has 2 of those AUNC 1874s, http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a7c0d3559 Anither high grade http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1878-Half-Crown-High-grade-Rare-/271112021827?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item3f1f892743 and if you look through the rest, apparently all of George V silver is rare dates

I believe you mentioned the Western World is using them. I'll Refrain from lowering myself to your gutter Level. You have a nice day now Vicky and a happy Christmas my son

My last tuppence worth is this.....coin collecting is supposed to be fun, holding History in your hands etc, putting a coin in a slab is like being a Test Tube Baby, sterile and certainly an anti climax. I can live without a piece of plastic telling me what grade a coin is, especially an American slab. I'm not Perfect, but i prefer My harsh grading than a slab Its not for everyone, especially this (apparent) cretin P.s, i knew ski was an auld fart.
-
I wonder how many of Robs rarities are in slabs, and he does have some rather rare ones
-
I'd have to disagree with 2 of you statements divemaster. Firstly i've only been collecting about 4 years, so i'm not an Old collector, compared to a few on here i'm "fresh blood" Secondly you seem to believe that TPGs are gods of grading, you don't believe they get it wrong? They certainly struggle with English coinage. What you seem to be saying is that older collectors are not Open to new things, well i'm relatively new, so whats the excuse for me and the fact i like to have a coin in my Hand? And please don't get pissy, its merely a question.....
-
Hmmmm, i never mentioned Matte slabs, nor did i mention the pictures. I did however Point to a thread about problematic picture taking that PECK mentioned. Maybe you should read a little Vicky then come back with something constructive other than abusive. You were the one that also mentioned the Western World is using slabs not me, so you are the one that needs to prove YOUR theory and not me, i'm could'nt give a toss how Many PCGS/ANA have slabbed, i still would'nt buy one to own. Now grow up, prove your theory that slabs are more Common than RAW and if you can't then try and take a chill pill and rest you fingers for a while

I must be missing something!

Oh, come on now. Didn't you see that it is "A Splendid Highly Collectable Example "!? ... that and the fact that this is eBay, not the real world of course. It's not that bad an example as they come, with the question being whether you want one or do you want the gap. You would pay into 4 figures for any shilling around the EF mark with E or E* below. High grade examples are seriously rare. True about the gap thing, and scarcity of better grades. My Spink gives £45 for F, £250 VF. It will be interesting to see if it hits the £100 mark, which I'd put at the maximum I'd have been prepared to pay when I was interested in that sort of thing ... the current price is about right maybe. Of course, it just squeaks into the Scottish coin market too which seems fairly buoyant at present ... we'll see. Which Spink are you reading Richard? My 2012 for the 1707E (F 110 and VF 400) and for the 1707E* (F 125 and VF 425) This one that's ending is Edinburgh, but she's thrown a couple of **** in there to make sure it gets publicity. You may need an updated Spink I am curious however between S 3609 and 3609A -
Your quote Vicky, you only gave 1 half of the arguement which was for the PCGS 25 millionth slabbed coin, i asked you to give the Slabbed Vs Raw ratio because as stated above you seem to have the figures for the WESTERN World. You said "it appears", so in my estimation, it appears you don't have those exact figures to hand, which would mean your statement is in fact bollocks????????? So this in fact would'nt make my statement of who likes them wrong, it just means there are 25 million PCGS slabs out there, but how many still intact. As i mentioned previously, i bought a slabbed coin for my collection and cracked it out the same day. So 1 less PCGS slab, how many more like me? You'll have those figures to? When you provide the slab v raw figures i'll then eat humble pie if slabs are winning, but it still won't make me go out and buy one if i don't like/want the coin at 10x the price of a raw coin
-
anybody bought one? Not yet, but if i do i'll send it to PCGS for grading
-
Shhhhh yes PCGS are slabbing all These new Coins from the American mint, any particular reason for that other than the slab to say MS70? Then there's the slabs that the owner was'nt happy about the grade, then cracked Open and Sent elsewhere for another try. Its all about a number on a slab and dollars for the owner as i keep saying, its not about actually owning the coin.

Case in point about photography of slabs http://www.predecimal.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7498
