From a small Job lot.... Sculpted by a Norwegian apparently with 2000 only made in bronze, so many in Silver and same for Gold with the dies being destroyed after they'd done. This was bought in 1978 and has the receipt from Spinks from the purchaser

lol ~ reminds me of the e mail I received "from the desk of Prince somebody or other of Nigeria", promising me $3 million for a £500 registration fee. He quoted a London address which, when I google earthed it, turned out to be a disused petrol station in Hendon Well from one 34 year old to another of similar age, I presume you will be taking advantage of this magnificent offer (for a small fee of course ) In the meatime, take a peek at their promo video on you tube ~ FÜ%k, quick, where do i sign up. This guy has converted me with his modified video and his bullshit spiel.............. here is is again spouting armageddon
  12. There's a bit of evidence to be retained. Nobody has properly sorted the 1804 dollar and associated patterns into originals and restrikes. With the obvious underlying features of an 1801 8 reales, this is clearly an original Soho piece. For anybody interested enough to study them, there is a worthwhile project to be undertaken here. looks like its gonna get sore for someones wallet. 1,131 quid with a day and a bit to go It's about right given there are a couple of tiny marks in the field. Mint state I'd say it would be £1500-2000. Trouble is Rob, if there has'nt been one kicking around for a while it might go topside. Winning bidder so far had a quick stab at £66.99, so he knows its rare

  14. Thanks, Peter! Any ideas where I'd get a list 51? Do similar studies exist for the William III copper? Try the Colin Cooke website

You certainly cast a very wide net, Dave! Where on earth do you start with paper money? I basically got it for its history. Its an operation Bernhard forgery and the serial was'nt noted for this date. It has been now. Just missed an original white isse Tenner in an auction from 1935, bugger!!!!! All totally over my head! Though I did once, a long time ago, decide if Ed7 had any notes, I would collect them! I still don't know to this day whether he did or not? Operation Bernhard was basically the Nazis attempt to destabilise the British Economy by flooding it with counterfit notes during the war. They were apparently some of the best fakes ever produced. Google or wikipedia it, great story. Oh and ED VII era did produce notes.I did pay over the odds for that note, dip the toe lightly. Creases, folds tears are not good to the note fraternity, even pin pricks lol

Told ya, buy a raw one and get a small tin of pertrol/paraffin, and send them back to the USA. In fact, that newbie who was doing that pryamid scheme might actually have his uses
