You can't price something that is unique, and all of these types are unique. If the subject matter was more appealing it could do £100+, I would guess yours would be in the £20-£50 region though. So are they all one off pieces? Yes, each being engraved by individuals. Its a nice piece and maybe worth hanging onto unless you are really desperate to sell. These engraved coins are finding their way into the market, but not quite popular just yet.

Is this Peter reincarnated?

The last one George Gotobed got four months' hard labour for stealing a rabbit and a duck in 1890 lol, cracking name though, wonder if there's any in the phonebook now -
Pattern BoE Dollar (?)
azda replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
And here's a 1791 Proof Pattern Guinea in Pewter. Spoke to this guy several times regarding Platt, he was a frequent buyer from him until he also spotted his shill bidding. He has several more nice coins listed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330750293204?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D330750293204%26_rdc%3D1 -

Poorly struck to. D and E of DEI virtually missing, strange for a pattern. I bet the seller is smiling considering he did'nt know what it actually was -

A "safe" coin as an investment?
azda replied to Mongo's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Just to add 2 other coins to the list, a Gothic Crown and a Northumberland shilling, loves those myself, but buy from a reputable dealer because there are fakes out there, -
A "safe" coin as an investment?
azda replied to Mongo's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I think it would depend on the budget. Many will give their own personal opinions on what YOU should buy, so i'm only going to give mine on the subject. Silver would be a commonwealth Halfcrwon or Shilling, Gold, anything earlier than Victoria, just make sure they are in decent grades, as beaten and worn won't reap rewards later -
What is the best program for ensuring emails get through?
azda replied to Rob's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Agreed, Tom. I use my hotmail account for serious e mails, as I know I can always rely it to do exactly what it says on the tin. I can also pick them up on my phone. All the crap goes to my outlook express. I use this for online orders/general enquiries and I don't care who gets the address. There's no spam filter on it either. Not sure what BT do, but I would certainly be irritated by any spam filter that was beyond my personal control. My ISP is Virgin Media. Interesting! Hotmail, hmmmm. I am germany and my brother in england has a Hotmail E-mail address. It is impossible to send him an Email from my every day email account due to the fact that Hotmail blocks it full stop. He gets no notification and I get my email returned with the message that Hotmail does not accept emails from my provider! Hows that for filtering? Hotmail blocks a complete provider! I use a popular german provider that has been in exsistance for probably nearly 20 years and hosts millions of email accounts. I use Outlook and Kaspersky together and have very little problem with spam, now and then I get a few spam mails that do make it into my inbox but a quick click and they are banned for ever to the spam folder. I would rather have all mails come through and I decide which is spam than have legit mails blocked by my provider. Not web.de by any chance is it Gary? -

Price of things in William III's reign?
azda replied to Descartes's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
So difficult with images, but my money says it's not good...I can't tell if that's haymarks or underlying base-metal pits! It is horribly tooled however. The hairlines beside the forehead don't even bother to follow what was a curl! Sorry, Dave, hope you didn't spend very much on it! What was making me itch was just above the 2nd V in GVLIELMVS , it looks to be flaking, thats when alarm bells started ringing -

Price of things in William III's reign?

Hmmmm i don't want to sound suspicious, but is it genuine, something about it looks odd, the legend for instance. What is the weight, and have you a REV picture?Maybe its just me Looks fine to me! Pictures are poor, but the clincher for me is that milled edge (where you can view it)! I've got a couple of coins with a similar type of degeneration/corrosion, that I feel extremely happy are genuine. However, as Azda said, it's always worth checking the weight, I always do this as a matter of course! My own W3 sixpences run at 2.88g/3.00g, with one as heavy as 3.12g, so still relatively variable. Does anyone have any known W3 sixpence counterfeits they could post? Spookey, but just found this for sale on fleabay, quite a nice collectable, really...not a sixpence, but crown! I have one which is pourous on both sides, it did make alarm bells ring, weight is 29.5g give or take on my pish scales, dia is around the 40mm mark as it's not exactly round, see what you think -

He's been taken away by little green men wanting to probe him, but unfortunately the could'nt find any grey matter and dropped him off in America along with the other abductees. George Bush refused to comment until someone prompted him to speak.

Great Story and from My liocal paper (Dundee) would love to take a detector round Loch Tay, they've found a few crannogs on the Loch by kenmore and they excavate once a year as its under water -
Peter, the Free fees option only runs for another 24hrs then back to normal, it may well be worth the £50 now rather than fees later
-
someone already has http://www.ebid.net/ For £49.49 you can list and sell with no fees for a lifetime. Interesting for those online dealers and for the normal everyday user the fees are reasonable. Just registered and used the seller+ option costing 50 quid. You're allowed up to 5 stores with no insertions fees or FVFs for life, the only fee you'll have is if someone pays with Paypal now. F@@k ebay

Hey my English Brummie type friend, he did mention WALSALL in his first post, don't shoot the messenger or else another shooting in WALSALL Definately pyramid scheme which it seems our American friend who's doing the presenting has already bitten our friend in WALSALL

Ahhhh haaa, the CEOs coming over from America to tell you Brits what you should sell is these lovely coins in slabs that are more or less bullion value, but if you buy from us at our mark up price you can sell these on at your mark up price. Sounds a bit like a selling scam to me. I also note you said you are new, yet you seem to be spouting a lot of spiel about this and that, are you sure these people are'nt the scientology group who have already brainwashed you into beleiving that X is actually Y. Well when you get bitten, come back and do let us know, you seem to apparently know what UK buyers want, coins in slabs? No, this is'nt what they want, or at least 90% don't want. You also seem to believe they want bullion coins, perhaps 15% want, unfortunately i think you've been blinded by the Americans talk and have been a little blinkered. So will the American be talking at the O2 areana or in your house in Wallsall?
