Did they make spade Guineas in 1802 John? Hence i asked the question, i did notice that, so presumably a gaming token.

What weight is it JohnMc? Did they make spade Guineas in 1802 John? Possibly Half Guinea 5th head? It should be around 4g ish if so, but the date doesn't fit as it has a spade REV. Could you also tell us the die axis Johnmc, IE when the Kings head us pointing upwards and you spin the coin around between 2 fingers to the other side (REV) is the spade pointing in the same direction, or opposite to the Kings head?

the picture is terrible John, have you another?

British Trade Dollar
azda replied to coinquest's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Sorry forgot to ask after messing with file sizes to post the pics. Basically any info about trade dollars would be much appreciated. Your pictures are very pixelated to see anything on it, i think you have böown a very small picture to the extreme and has therefor distorted the image -
I share your pain. Mine are too busy fighting, shagging and doing things they'd rather I didn't know about to concentrate on anything so 'static' as collecting coins. I can just about get them to play golf, but that's as far as they will go. Just got my eldest boy (12) interested in fishing. He told me you can do it on an xbox, ps3 apparently! He even likes helping to sort my job lots from auctions and takes some for his "collection" Sadly he has discovered girls and puberty now so I fear all may be lost!!! Maybe you should show him what some of these old coins can make John, perhaps let him look at the Pennies on the Workman sale and show him what prices they achieved, maybe then kids will come to realise the value of these old coins
-
I think he's iver enlarged a very small picture, hence the pixalation
-
