  1. Fairly surprised at the grade LCs have put on this Edward VI shilling, in fact i think it's pretty poor grading, loads of wear on the face and robe, mine is GVF as comparison

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Yet he keeps getting away with it.......

    NGC grading walkthrough

I noticed that also, but have also seen videos from PCGS who also handle them without gloves which really bloody irritates me, they should handle all these coins with gloves and especially so proofs. I uploaded the video because someone mentioned on here the reason LCGS were so good was because they have 3 graders for each coins, so now we know that NGC also have the same amount of graders, although they certainly took about 90 seconds to look over and submit the grade which i could also do if you sent me $30

    1887 Half Crown

Lol, since that was written in 2010 i must have forgotten all about it
  6. There is a couple of Marsh books for sale on ebay, 3 in total, 1 is doubled up, but you get the Sov and half Sov books at least, 4 days to go at time of posting http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/gold-sovereign-books/282351231177?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Dfa49e994546e4d48848972f6ad6f4904%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D391695604575

    First Time Grading

The other problem is that you need to be a PCGS or NGC member before you could submit it, unless of course you handed it over to some 3rd party who would submit it for you but would obviously ask for a bigger fee for their time, as above, i wouldn't bother either
  8. Hence the reason you should buy from reputable sources and dealers, those also exist on ebay and outside of ebay, there are even a few on here that may help you buy what you require, you only need ask.......

What a pile of junk.....I don't hold out much hope for the other either, or money back to be honest. Is there selling protection on this group?

  13. Its actually pretty cool way to get rid of some of the ER II pennies or even just the scrap, wonder how many it took

    Slab overgrading

I think the main thing is, as we're seeing from Jaggys post and elsewhere is the fact that no one agrees on a grade of a coin especially when you're talking sheldon grading or whatever scale that LCGS use, points differences is IMO minimal. I'll always ask the same question, how do you differentiate an MS63 from a 64 or an LCGS 78 and 80, IMO it's just BS, when you're talking AU58 to MS63 onwards then there should be some differences, but 1 point is just talking through their rear blowhole

    Penny 1875 - AU - MS60 - 61 - Hard to Find

I sold Guy a coin late last year, it took around 2 months from initial contact to finalising because he was busy. I don't think he's ignoring you either, probably just overlooking what he's posted because he's posting another topic. He'll get back to you eventually
  16. Here is how to do it on the MAC, click and open your picture, on the toolbar you'll see the tools tab, click on that and then there you can crop and adjust the size, bearing in mind you can only upload 500kb

Just bumped into this while reading an article on coin world.com This is an American price guide for British coins, how accurate depends on what you collect i guess http://www.coinworld.com/content/dam/cw/coinvalues/foreign/2016/090516%20-%20%20British%20Values.pdf
  19. Thought about you when i saw this @Peter, for some reason i was reading this in a @PWA 1967 Manc accent
  20. He said he got it from a car booty, he also said he has refunded the buyer and told him it was a fake......
  21. I have seen another 1869 somewhere that was mentioned as being fake, so yes, they are doing these as well. Lets hope whoever is winning it isn't honourable in their intentions and leaves it a cherry. Sent him a message and he said he was made aware that it was a fake with less than 12hrs left on the clock and was unable to cancel the auction and says he will notify the winning bidder, but i think the winning bidder already knows....... Wonder where he got it.......
