    That's because there are 2 of the same year. 1 REV proof and 1 normal proof. The REV proof is the one with the 500 mintage and could also be a private issue as the RM mint coins for other parties or it could be a test strike of another coin coming into production next year. They were released in a 2 coin set, the normal Britannia and the REV proof

    I'm still perplexed how the Jon Blyth offering of a 1912H penny even made MS65 with the gouges on it, if they mark down for mint wipes then surely gouges should also apply. Sold for £313 if anyone is interested

    I think ampex are an american distrabutor,along with 1 other, they generally get first dibs on coins
