  1. For arguments sake Paul, looking at the very bottom florin, does CGS have any graded at 82 or 85, makes you wonder where they get the 2016 price from in 85
  2. The proof is in the pudding, maybe check the Londoncoins upcoming auction and see if there is any CGS slabs up for sale, see what their estimate is and then check their website for valuation, both should in theory match, then wait until the realised prices come out and see what you get......
  3. So in reality Pete, CGS value your coin at £1.25 because the cost of the slab was £13.75, air, pluck, out, figure, of comes to mind.
  4. I bagged myself a rare 1860 1/2d and sent it to them, checking their valuations before it was graded their highest grade back then was valued at £750, when mine came back as their finest graded the valuations of the same coin dropped across the board, their previous finest known had dropped to around £400, bet the owner was a tad miffed, their value has gone back up now to around £550-£575 I think, it's all meaningless, it'll be worth what someone will pay.
  5. Geezus, asking £30 a submission and taking up to 3 months to get it back is bad enough, now another £99 for membership for the lovely customer service from Serma is just a joke. I think it could be a nail in the coffin right there. Let's see how many submissions they'll lose if they ask the same fee from people who are already members. There is ABSOLUTEY no benefit of paying a yearly subscription, at least with PCGS you get 4 free submission for your $149 membership and a turnaround of about 3 weeks
  6. Thought I'd add this link from today http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3597044/Remain-campaign-races-record-18-point-lead-EU-referendum-voters-don-t-trust-David-Cameron-security-warnings.html
  7. Now that is a handsome bugger, pity all his coinage wasn't struck the same

    CGS Again

It would be a good exercise if you posted the pictures of the coins you sent so we can all take a stab at grades......
  9. Is an international body doing the count? If not I won't hold my breath that the vote will be in favour of a Brexit

    CGS Again

George V series is the hardest to get the head around IMO, i gave up the ghost with his coinage
  11. Being in the middle of the whole thing, my honest opinion would be that Brussels needs revamping. The key factor IMO is that Brussels meddles far to much in law making of other countries, in that respect i'd probably vote to leave UNLESS there was some major changes within the structure........
  12. Sounds a bit like Westminster and the Tory majority......
  13. You should be able to upload 500kb per post
  14. Doing a bit of spadework and we find the seller was obviously telling an elaborate tale, but he did buy off eBay. So now we have 2 sellers who increase grades http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1870-Victoria-Bun-head-Penny-dies-6-G-Rare-date-a-U-trace-lustre-still-present-/222072205165?hash=item33b488ef6d%3Ag%3AxxIAAOSw9KpW%7EtlK&nma=true&si=MjBCddtCyGYkoPLcYZazmQwWESk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. Not sure if you're referring to me Flash, am thinking not as this is the first time i've seen this seller and secondly the OP was called Kuhli who started this thread back in 2005
  16. From the same seller I highlighted last night. http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=301951937223&category=98763&pm=1&ds=0&t=1463417114899 i'm not at all sure what's for sale at 10k but surely that listing is VERY misleading
  17. Sounds like The same As they did with The Workman collection, seems to work. Might hab a Look when bids have been added and See what we're dealing with
  18. How long does The auction run for?
  19. He gave me the exact same answer.
  20. 2nd coin http://m.ebay.com/itm/301945502066
  21. I linked him both Londons auctions and he claimed the 1870 wasn't the same coin (uh huh) he told me they were bought from someone else on eBay who grade them both as UNC, yet when I showed him the Londons listings he did nothing at all to alter them. He/she certainly seems to think penny buyers wouldn't check against prices elsewhere. You can only give the benefit of the doubt for so long, but this one certainly seems to be trying to rip:fool people.....if we went through some of their other listings we'd probably find a few others, but now we know about this one, also on Facebook selling their wares according to the description. Another to keep well away from.. Hey Peter, hope all is well with you , glad to see you again my old friend...
  22. at 120k i wouldn't be buying coins, maybe a house somewhere sunny
  23. Both of these sold at the last Londoncoins sale in far less the grade being offered and for a combined price of £175 hammer, now asking £1000 each 301945480385 01945502066
  24. Here's hoping it drops 119k in price then
