  1. Wasn't me. Sadly.
  2. Can anyone point me in the right direction here - we have a Byzantine 40 Nummus (M) with what appears to be a standing figure and kneeling? figure on the reverse. Not many other details are clear, but this seems to be an issue of the earlier Byz. Empire.
  3. Zdrastvooytye Mike.
  4. Another fake I presume http://cgi.ebay.com/1763-England-shilling-silver-coin-/190474954236?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c593125fc Seller with 0 feedback - in this identity, but he may have had even lower ratings with other ones previously.
  5. Well, he says he's honest, so I guess that clinches it then!..
  6. Hi Dave, welcome in and, NO we won't buy any dodgy sovs from ya..
  7. If it had been worth much, how come it has not been taken out of circulation before this point in time?
  8. More to the point, how did the coin get so ugly?
  9. Charles II of Spain 1694 Liard from Flanders (Spanish Netherlands) David It's just a very common Nuremberg Jeton. More information in this link where there's an explanation of the lettering on some of these. http://www.mernick.org.uk/Bexley/article3.htm
  10. Yeah where's the evidence?
  11. But hey it's fashionable, I'm getting all my Aethelread pennies that are genuine stamped with "REPLICA" just so I can put them on eBay!..
  12. Thanks, But I thought I managed to google one which seemed to have normal, circular but 'straight' edges earlier. What an intrigiuing design..
  13. Does anybody know why my George III Sixpence happens to have wavy edges like this? I am befuddled...
  14. Best way to sell is by selling them to me at good prices I'll know what to do with them!
  15. Duh Bob? They never used full-stops on the coins back then.
  16. Why so much!!???
  17. I take it this might be filed down hahaha! Since when do you get errors like this one is alleged to be?.. corr.. must be worth thousands! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Canada-George-V-One-Cent-1914-Interesting-Error-rev-/190434780129?pt=UK_Coins_World_RL
  18. Vicky, I think the value would be exactly the same, in merry ole' England. That's the thing with these big auction houses, they attract so much attention that it makes little difference what country it is being sold in.
  19. Hehe..nice to know it's probably worthless, modern crap!
  20. Hmf..just why is the ship missing its boughs?
  21. I wondered if it was something like, if you transpose the second image on top of the first to fill in the spaces that seem to be missing from the ship, you form a complete image?... but it doesn't look right...a mystery LOL
  22. I honestly haven't got a clue what this is: it's just about the strangest thing I've seen!
  23. Kids only being able to afford 8 quid these days? haha..!
  24. What do you guys think about this coin, does it look real to you? It feels odd, doesn't feel or sound metallic and doesn't smell of anything!
