  1. If you look carefully, what appears to have have happened is that a chunk has come out of the lower 3. It's a piece missing. The question is, did it happen at striking which would make it an interesting (but probably not valuable) misstrike, or has been gouged out since? hi i know what you are getting at with the chunk but would pinching out after striking account for the leg sticking out at the back of the lower 3 in the middle some friends of mine suggested that it may possibly be a backwards £ sign
  2. Hard to tell, can you do a high res scan? David dont really know how to preform a hi res scan but could email you the image as it appears on my computer monitor before i started to make adjustments to be able to post it on this site
  3. thanks for your replies on the lower coin, it also has an odd line sticking out from its middle at the back which was the peice i was reffering to mostly im not sure how to preform a hi res scan i do have a scanner so will try to figure out if im able to do this later also there appears to be no damage to the other side of the coin so has not been pinched by a pliers but dont know if this would be importan and the 3 also appears to be slightly diffrent in shape could email images to any address if i cannot scan if anyone whise to have these images sent please supply a valid email
  4. coin error image 1913 penny"> these are two 1913 pennies i own and the bottom one appears to have another number under the 3 and would like to hear the opinions of others and if they would agree or not and if anyone agrees that an error may have occured what the number under the 3 might be and any opinions as to its rareity would also be appreciated
