......you may have to wait some time, their in decline in uk wetlands. ccgb2010 is priced at six guineas, do the same tax rules apply to guineas, were they ever used for currency?
-

a rare variety bu/unc lustreous rainbow toned bun head penny..........slabbed, all warapped up in a pair of my shreddies......gotta be worth zillions . ive seen alot of fine and maybe vf vicky silver on ebay lately thats soo bright and shiny, i wonder if these sellers realise what their doing to their coins. the same items seem to come up for relisting, so i guess no one is fooled...... fortunatly.
-
coming back to the london coin auction slabbed section (very quickly before 400 hurts himself), i dont think a seperate slabbed section is anything new for them, the earliest catalogue i have for them immediatly to hand is march 2010 and theres a seperate section there. 400.....you can come down now
-
i think that only works if your london coins and are selling.....but then again recent ebay sales may prove otherwise still it may be worth a tenner to preserve the lustre, keep it that way and to hell with what cgs grade it as. in 150 years your great/great/great grandchildren can always bust the slab open
-
as if i didnt know but the point i was making was......does it really matter!!
-
nice penny...........could be unc, maybe bu.......maybe bunc . its a very nice coin, i would have thought its desireability to add it to your collection is what made you part with your cash, not the title/grade. would you have still bought it, if it was graded aunc?
-
i wonder if the slab made any difference here, more of another pointer at the inflationary prices collectors seem to pay for pennies. all penny collectors now........STAY AWAY FROM FLORINS.........thank you
-
i can talk shite all day.......so send me your unc/bu coins......TA.

I was 12 and worked out back of my grandfathers fish and chip shop, i operated the peeling and chipping machines to earn my pocket money. d-day saw me promoted to the front of the shop where i helped the pensioners recalculate the cost of their wet fish. like most fishmongers we used those price tags that pushed into the trays and i recall we had both old and new prices marked on each tray. the florin and shilling helped the changeover, but it was difficult for the elderly. Jubbly's became 2.5 new pence if my memory serves me right, For the younger reader jubblys were the measure of currency for schoolboys I never really stood much of a chance of getting much in the way of older silver coinage out of the till as my grandad knew the score and retrieved the best items for himself ive been negative to decimal coinage for most of the time its been around, recent times though ive looked a little closer at the newer coins and have saved some from change, i do wonder though, with all the commerative issues and sheer number of issued coins, what future collectors will make of them.

whats his name.....ive £125 waiting

ski replied to Colin G.'s topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
why?.....have the Maltese made you cross? -
have to agree, its a james..........you were foolish to get rid of it though as its clearly the very rare lowtide,46 tooth border 8 over 7 variety.
-
a bun fight over the bun heads...............okay
-
commision pah i wonder how much copper is in that car does the price of copper affect the value of these particular coins? i was of the opinion (rightly or wrongly) that too many penny collectors were chasing too few coins, especially the varieties, and it was that which was pushing up prices.
-
incidentally, and of concern to me, ive heard theres predictions in similar price hikes in victorian silver.....
-
thats amazing, i have been surprised at the prices paid for copper coins, but such a big increase over such a short time is something else. im left wondering if its a good time to buy, or a good time to sell, what the prices may be in another 6 months?...........i guess a great time to sell any duplicates. well done azda............now about my car
