a colleague recently found a tin of coins in his mothers loft, he showed me the coins and there was the usual worn farthings etc. however there was a double tailed penny (1963 if my memory serves me right)in the tin. ive read that a great many of these double sided coins were forgeries and were 2 coins joined, this may be a very good example of this as the join is invisible. were these coins ever produced for magicians? there seems to be plenty of 10p coins like this on ebay. does anyone know of any examples that were genuine mint errors?

i didnt know that...how does that compare with me loading a cd into my itunes library i wonder? i regularly talk with my local coin dealer about lots in up and coming auctions , no matter how much i talk to him, im never going to beat him if he has a sell-onto client who wants that piece.....at any price. be a shame when big bro stops us from talking to each other on our hobby and our potential purchases.

hiya......possibly the only reason most here may look at modern decimal coinage, is to see this sort of error. there have been a few threads here showing coins with all sorts of errors, most of which show her maj with warts and all sorts.check out your change, its quite surprising the poor quality of minting. ski

Cant defend myself, ive used words that some may consider unnecassary.........but if it offends then never get on a bus when a secondary school rolls out, i did this recently when returning from an eye test at a hospital that prevented me from driving home.......some of the teenage girls would get banned from here!!!!!.
